    Most digital banks today look… surprisingly alike. They play it safe. Launch the same features. And follow a “wait and see” mindset, only building (I mean copying) what others have already done. But some banks chose to go in a different direction. Not just to stand out, but because their customers needed something more. – GXBank saw the rise of online scams and cyber fraud across Southeast Asia, and decided that fraud protection had to be core to the product, not just fine print or a support number. – ZA bank became the first bank in Asia to offer crypto investments, opening access to a new asset class many of their customers were already exploring on other platforms. Better to do this through a regulated entity than someone else. – MariBank focused on making international transfers easy and affordable, especially for their large customer base of expats and foreign workers living in Singapore. – Trust Bank Singapore introduced integrated wealth management tools, offering customers more than just a place to spend, but a platform to plan and grow. – Tonik turned saving into a shared journey, with savings goals that you can build with friends or family, making it fun, social, and easier to stick with your plans. These features weren’t just launched to grab headlines. They solved real problems, for real people. AiNi officially joined our “payroll” in February and is proving to be an MVP. With the chat function being the most popular choice for customers, she has improved the team’s efficiency by almost 40%. Efficiency? Boosted. Customer satisfaction? Multiplied. And yes, we're still debating AiNi’s pay grade. But here’s the real game-changer: AiNi isn’t just solving problems — she’s shaping how we build a better and inclusive banking experience.     Perbadanan Ekonomi Digital Malaysia (MDEC), dengan kerjasama Perbadanan Perusahaan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia (SME Corp. Malaysia), telah mengumumkan Inisiatif Pendigitalan Perniagaan (BDI); sebuah inisiatif yang bertujuan untuk memperkasa perusahaan mikro, kecil, dan sederhana (PMKS). Majlis ini telah disempurnakan oleh YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Menteri Digital; bersama YBhg Tuan Fabian Bigar, Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Digital; dan Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif MDEC, dengan sokongan dari agensi kerajaan, persatuan perniagaan, penyedia teknologi serta rakan strategik yang lain. Turut diadakan ialah pertukaran Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara MDEC bersama SME Corp. Malaysia, Maybank, TM, Boost, GXBank, TnG Digital, Funding Societies Malaysia, CapBay, CTOS, Grab serta ICT Zone Asia Berhad. Disaksikan oleh Menteri Digital, kerjasama strategik ini akan memperkukuh ekosistem digital Malaysia, membolehkan PMKS berkembang dan berdaya saing. Acara ini juga memperkenalkan Penyelesaian E-Invois Freemium dan Mampu Milik untuk PMKS yang ditawarkan oleh 21 Penyedia Perkhidmatan diperakui MDEC, dan mengiktiraf sumbangan mereka dalam menjadikan e-Invois lebih mudah diakses oleh PMKS.     Berbuka puasa penuh makna, Nikmat rezeki dirasa bersama, Bubur lambuk harum dimasak bersama Disaji ikhlas dengan penuh mesra. Kasih disemai, silaturahim terjalin, Keberkatan hadir, hati pun bahagia. Sedekah diberi, berkongsi rezeki, Moga sejahtera seluruh warga. Many Grab partners, especially with young school going children, would have spent a considerable amount of money to prepare them for school last month. While we are firm proponents of the power of education to achieve social mobility, financial constraints should impinge their opportunity to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan and preparing for the festivities of Hari Raya should not be forfeited. It was a humbling experience for us to collaborate with our colleagues from Grab to spend an evening with children from the Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE) home together with Grab partners and their families. Being able to prepare the bubur lambuk and beriftar together with them, especially the children, brought us much joy, gratitude and a reminder of our purpose - building a resilient Malaysia where these children can continue to grow and thrive. Limited access to capital, outdated systems, and scaling hurdles can sometimes be difficult to overcome. Last year on GX 2.0, together with Grab  launched TeXnovasi - our startup accelerator programme - with the support from Cradle Fund & 1337 Ventures. It’s dedicated to empower Malaysian startups who are keen to  tackle real challenges in the financial sector - be it improving financial inclusion, enhancing SME services, bolstering digital security, or elevating customer experience.  After a competitive selection process, we have our top 8 startups! We recently hosted them in our humble office and also shared what the programme will entail. The startups also had a chance to meet their mentors. For us, TeXnovasi represents more than just an accelerator - it’s our way of giving back to the nation. By investing in the next generation of innovators, we are building a future where every Malaysian can have access to the financial opportunities they need and deserve. Together, we’re not only revolutionising banking but also creating lasting, positive change for our community.     This past year has been an incredible journey, a whirlwind of challenges and triumphs as we built our bank to serve Malaysians. It felt like we were running continuous sprints in a long marathon, navigating the uncharted territories of banking amid new technologies and having fun!   Five key lessons stood out: 1️⃣ Team & Trust: Having diverse #GXBankers on a single shared purpose was a necessary start. #BuildingTheFutureOfBanking required #3Cs -Curiosity, Courage and Cinta. The #Trust that we had each others' back as we empower, challenge and listen was crucial to our success. 2️⃣Staying True to Our North Star: Our guiding principle to put Malaysians first and staying true to our purpose gives us the resilience to overcome obstacles and navigate challenges. This has meant making difficult choices, sometimes forgoing short-term gains for long-term sustainability. 3️⃣Recognised and Rewarded: Winning the trust of >1Mio users, crowned as Best Digital Bank twice amongst 17 industry awards and joining the ranks of incumbent banks as we marched alongside at Merdeka Day and sat on the same table in Association of Banks Malaysia. These recognitions tell us that we made our mark in our first year. More importantly, they are powerful motivators reminding us that we have to continue striving for even greater excellence. 4️⃣Data as Our Compass: We separated the white noise by letting users’ & engagement data drive how we think, decision and build so to truly meet the financial needs of Malaysians. 5️⃣Continuous Learning: A Lifelong Pursuit: The financial landscape is constantly evolving, and we must adapt alongside it; therefore, the journey of continuous learning, re-learning and un-learning was essential to us.
