Even if your campus is merely 10 minutes away, you’re always invited to have fun in our Setel Office 😆 Fortunately for us, to brighten the end of our April, Universiti Malaya’s Data Analytics Club (UMDAC) did exactly that just this Tuesday. Members of UMDAC came to visit the Setel Office and hear about Setel and careers in Data directly from one of our experts: Darveen Vijayan. Darveen shared about ‘The Quest for Signal: Navigating The Data Maze for Smarter Decisions’ and safe to say that it caught everyone’s attention. Our Talent Team representative, Nurul Farhanah (Nunu) then sat down with him for an insightful fireside chat focusing mainly on ways to build a solid career journey in tech and data, and all the methods he used to master what he does now—from binge-watching tutorials while commuting to work and getting certified for all the tools he found powerful. Of course, no visit to the Setel Office is complete without the student-approved fried chicken sandwiches, our Setel Career Kits (yes, the blue bags with all our merch!), and a tour of the office. A campus near the heart of the city means liveliness, and we experienced exactly that during our visit to Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology just earlier this week! Just yesterday our representatives from the Talent Attraction Team, Wei Yan Chan and Nurul Farhanah (Nunu), were in the Asia Pacific University Campus to fulfill a speaker invitation from APU’s Cybersecurity undergraduates for their Workplace Professional Skills course program. Wei Yan, Setel’s Talent Attraction and Acquisition Manager, delivered a presentation about Current Hiring Trends within the tech industry, highlighting how to best understand emerging hiring trends and strengthen your skills for your dream careers. The event had almost 100 students and lecturers in attendance, and it was absolutely enjoyable to answer questions from the brilliant minds in the crowd. Wei Yan even shared the tips and tricks to make the most of your internships and build a solid personality for interviews. Overall it was a great session that allowed the students to get up close and personal with a hiring team that knows best on how to maximize your potentials!
