ESG adoption and reporting enhances transparency and strengthens a company’s risk management practices, both of which are critical factors in influencing performance, driving long-term value creation, and building trust and loyalty among stakeholders. We’ve officially launched the Alliance Bank KL Open Pickleball Championship 2025, an initiative that reflects our commitment to holistic community well-being. The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, together with our Group Chief Consumer Banking Officer, Ms. Gan Pai Li and Mr. Samuel Siew, Chief Executive Officer of Courtsite. We are honoured to have co-hosted the ESG for SME Forum 2025 with The Shift Asia, in celebration of Earth Day’s 55th anniversary on April 22nd. The forum brought together over 100 Malaysian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) leaders and sustainability experts to discuss how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) can drive business growth, resilience, and long-term success. With a mix of practical insights and actionable strategies, the event highlighted the importance of embedding sustainability into daily business decisions and operations. In the final session, our Group Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, Dr Aaron Sum shared insights from the ESG 2.0 Report – The Path to Sustainable Impact, offering Malaysian SMEs sector-specific guidance on how to turn ESG from ambition into impact.
