Building on the success of its 2024 debut , the MD Open Day 2025 connects federal and state agencies, partners, MD Companies and key digital economy players in driving meaningful conversations, forging new partnerships, and reaffirm MDEC’s commitment to inclusive digital growth and talent development. In line with the Dubai Business Mission, MDEC, represented by Datuk Ts. Fadzli Abdul Wahit, Head of Digital Transformation accompanied YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital Malaysia, at the Machine Can See (MCS) Summit 2025 in Dubai, reinforcing Malaysia’s strong commitment to AI adoption and digital innovation. Throughout the mission, we engaged with global leaders to strengthen Malaysia’s position as the preferred digital investment gateway into ASEAN. Key highlights included discussions with the UAE’s Minister of State for AI on featuring a Dubai Pavilion at the Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur and advancing bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development. Engagements with DAMAC Group further opened avenues for expanding AI Data Centre investments in Malaysia. In Abu Dhabi, strategic engagements with Abu Dhabi Capital Group (ADCG), SAAL, and Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) explored collaborations in sovereign AI initiatives, digital infrastructure development, and tokenised digital assets. There was strong interest in participating in the ASEAN AI Summit 2025 and in leading UAE AI missions to Malaysia.
