The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is an independent federal agency that seeks to help American's start, grow, expand, or recover their small business. The Alabama District Office comes from the SBA Office of Field Operations and seeks to be a point of contact for Alabamians and the resources provided by SBA.

A special thank you to The E-Center for hosting us this week! On March 17, Alabama SBA staff Megyn R. traveled to Decatur, Alabama to host an SBA Day: Community Office Hours in partnership with the UAH SBDC and APEX Accelerator enabling entrepreneurs to get questions about SBA resources, general technical business assistance, and government contracting assistance. We were able to meet with former youth entrepreneurs looking to start a business, businesses from the E-Center's incubator, and drop-ins. We spoke to folks with businesses from real estate to 3D printing to manufacturing to auto detailing and many others. SBA Southeast Region

The Office of Advocacy is hosting a roundtable on Thursday March 12th to hear from businesses about the impact of the Department of War’s (DoW) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program. Advocacy would like to hear from small businesses that have been impacted by program’s compliance. Specifically, Advocacy would like information on how much the certification process has cost, and the expected impact CMMC requirements will have on small businesses.
