Last month, we welcomed partners from the CCC Digital Center and the California Community Colleges system to the Google office to talk about how AI and digital innovation can support higher education. From streamlining workflows for faculty to scaling new ideas across campuses, moments like this are a powerful reminder that the best updates don’t happen just through coding, but through close collaboration with the folks using the tools every day. We’re still buzzing from last week! It was such an honor to host the 2026 State Teachers of the Year to explore AI and the future of learning at Google’s Mountain View campus. 📍 Orientation day was filled with hands-on sessions, but our biggest takeaway was the opportunity to listen and learn from these 56 exceptional educators. This partnership with Council of Chief State School Officers is about elevating teacher voices to lead the national conversation on how AI can support learning for every student. We’re launching a three-year initiative to provide comprehensive Gemini training to all 6 million K-12 and higher-education faculty in the U.S. Rolling out in the coming months, our landmark program will offer educators training on how to safely and thoughtfully use our suite of AI tools — including NotebookLM. Here’s what to know: • The program’s made up of concise, flexible training modules that are designed to specifically address busy teachers’ needs. • Each module offers real-world examples aimed at supporting student learning. • Teachers who complete the training will receive badges to demonstrate their AI literacy with Google tools.
