IBM Quantum System Two is officially operational at the RIKEN Center for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan—the first deployment of a System Two outside the United States. https://ibm.biz/Bdn6GN This system is powered by a 156-qubit IBM Quantum Heron processor—the most performant quantum processor in the world—and is co-located with Fugaku, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers. Together, they form a quantum-centric supercomputing environment that will both enable researchers to push the limits of what today’s quantum hardware can do, and demonstrate the ideal scenario of a quantum-HPC hybrid workflow. The IBM Quantum System Two at RIKEN expands on IBM’s global fleet of quantum systems and represents a critical step toward realizing quantum advantage in the near-term. Check out the photos below and learn more at the press release linked above.
