I loved being there! I’m incredibly grateful to our Booz Allen Hamilton volunteers/tech experts who gave up a Saturday to support this program. Thanks also to the educators and partners at the National Cryptologic Foundation and Technology Advancement Center (TAC) for creating an environment where students and parents could ask questions, try new things, and build confidence in skills that will shape their futures. A special shout out to Alisha Jordan, Ed.D for sharing your expertise, passion, and vision for this program and Siraaj Hasan, PMP for championing NCF and this event and getting us all started in such a positive way with your inspiring remarks at the event. In that context, she also pointed to the role of attention itself. In a system designed to capture engagement, what people choose to pay attention to directly shapes what gets amplified. Rebecca Diamond reposted thisRebecca Diamond reposted thisI just started reading Helen Lewis’s article, “The Men Who Fear Women,” in the June 2026 issue of The Atlantic, and I’ll be honest: my first reaction was frustration. The kind of frustration that comes from hearing, yet again, the idea that women working, women leading, women being educated, women participating fully in society, somehow comes at the expense of men. I simply do not understand that logic. A woman having opportunity does not mean a man has less of it. A woman being educated does not mean a man is denied knowledge. A woman leading does not mean a man is erased. And the same is true when we talk about diversity more broadly. A person of color getting a job, an education, a seat at the table, or a chance to lead does not mean a white man has been robbed of something. That way of thinking assumes power is finite. That for one person to rise, someone else must fall. That opportunity is a pie with only so many slices. That inclusion is a threat instead of a strength. And that is exactly the cultural lie we need to keep challenging. At Iron Butterfly Media, we have created a platform where real stories from women can be shared, honored, and celebrated. Through our films, podcasts, and storytelling work, we are committed to showing women as they actually are: powerful, complicated, brilliant, flawed, courageous, and fully human. Because power does not have to mean power over. Power can mean power with. Power can be shared. It can be expanded. It can be built in community. Representation is not replacement. And the sooner we stop treating equality as a threat, the sooner we can start building something better for everyone. Centered on civic education, historical storytelling, and community engagement, 51 Steps to Freedom works to honor the stories of courage, resilience, and innovation that have shaped the nation’s ongoing pursuit of liberty. Through interactive educational programming and technology-driven experiences, the organization is reimagining how Americans connect with history in the lead-up to the nation’s 250th anniversary. As part of the collaboration, Miss America will support Signing the American Promise, a year-long augmented reality initiative developed by 51 Steps to Freedom that invites Americans across the country to symbolically sign a living version of the Declaration of Independence. The immersive activation encourages participants to reaffirm the founding ideals of liberty, opportunity, civic responsibility, and national unity as part of their celebration of the nation’s founding. This limited series tells the #AnalyticTransformation story under the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. We hear from all the people with whom I had the privilege to work with to deliver #socialmedia solutions in the darkest days of our nation's history. This series recounts a time from 2006 - 2010 when #collaboration and #informationsharing was at its peak in the #intelligencecommunity. We look back with over 20 years of perspective of where we started and where we are in the journey. We also look forward and discuss what challenges #intelligence faces in the future. We interviewed over 20 people, traveled over 6,000 miles, collected over 40 hours of material, and undertook six months of editing. Over the course of the series, you will learn about the challenges and achievements of so many quiet professionals from across the country. This series will be released on an accelerated schedule and includes a total of 14 episodes. We will open with an introductory interview from Lindy Kyzer where I will describe the project more fully. Suffice to say for now, we recorded our first interview in September last year. By the time our last episode drops, it will have been a full year since we kicked-off this project.
