Anonymous, 25 Aug 2026That one announced for 800 euros? 535€ actually
Everything Sony has done in the past 3 years has come across as arrogant and out of touch with the market it finds itself in. I don't know why one would buy a Sony product at this point, given the price, the specs, and relatively low availability. The only thing they still have going for them is that they still support E-mount lenses on their cameras
PanRT, 25 Aug 2026Just buy 17T from Xiaomi, no this trash. That one announced for 800 euros?
This one, I don't know.
But mk7 has ufs3.1 ..
Since many phones of this range ( like Motorola) comes with 2.2 ..
$ 547.00 Apple iPhone 17e 15:30 29:14 14:34 18:56 9:25 9:25 vs 600 euro Sony Xperia 10 VIII 13:37 31:55 14:43 23:35 5:52 5:52 ???????????????????????????????????????????

khodemamd, 25 Aug 2026I agree that the smartphone market has become stagnant in some ways, but saying nothing has ch... moreChanged largely for the worse, sure. 🤭
Cameras didn't evolve, we just get slightly bigger sensors now. And a couple of them. Pay a very high price for their meh performance and phones got from "camera bump" being 0,x mm to it almost doubling phone thickness.
Displays... The Galaxy S7 had almost 600 ppi, nothing close to it now. S26 barely has 400. Just as an example. HRR is ok, but could have lived without it.
Chips sure, but helps little because the apps got extremely bloated. It's not like they do any more than a decade ago.
Charging a bit, I was already perfectly fine with QC.
Connectivity what? 5G being a bit faster than 4G? Sure. But how often do you benefit from 500 instead of 200 Mbps max? Bluetooth still has no proper damn lossless codec. 🤣
Software support also insignificant because software isn't moving, when was the last time a new Android version brought something new? Could have easily called Android 17 something more in line with actual progress, like Android 4.8.
Foldables... Not a particularly interesting form factor IMO but good for those interested. 👍
Got downgrades too. Generally no expandable storage, no 3,5 mm jack, that ugly hole in the screen, much larger, more expensive.
PsychoDad, 25 Aug 2026Does anybody knows anyone who owns a Sony smartphone?I do, multiple Sony Ericssons, and a Xperia L1.

Sounds better? :D
Tech media needs to stop using memory prices as excuse for brands to increase prices.
- Final specs are chosen at least 4 months before phones are announced. And specs barely change from testing phase.
- Components are acquired months before too. Often they still have batches from last year to use again.
Midrange components do not see price increase as high as top notch stuff ( like ddr5x, ufs4.0/4.1 , 3nm SoC) .
No way ram/storage can make phone this category be €160 more than previous.

Also, if you have to rely on immigration, there's something wrong with your country already, and bringing foreigners in won't fix it. Not to mention the 'doctors' and 'engineers' doing wonders for the West LOL

User935, 25 Aug 2026Modern smartphone market 🤣🤣 What's that? Nothing happening on that sad, sad market for a ... moreI agree that the smartphone market has become stagnant in some ways, but saying nothing has changed in a decade is simply not true. Cameras, displays, chips, charging, connectivity, software support and even foldables have evolved a lot. You don't have to like the direction, but Sony still has to compete with what the rest of the industry offers in 2026.
