There may be a better way to showcase your AI fluency on LinkedIn. LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky has two quick tips to stand out in a crowded market: 1️⃣ Update your skills section with the AI tools you use 2️⃣ Post on the feed to share your work In your posts, beware of "bragging" about accomplishments. Instead, write about what you're building, how you're building it and what you're learning in the process. Also, ask others for their input. The goal isn't to broadcast, it's to contribute to and build community. How are you using LinkedIn to demonstrate your AI skills? Share in the comments. • As AI rapidly reshapes the workforce, reinvention is key to keeping up — even if you’ve been doing your job for years. “What is remarkable about this moment is that you can literally say it's 10 to 25 times more productive to use a coding agent and do something than it was before,” says Sridhar Ramaswamy CEO of Snowflake. But that kind of acceleration comes with real challenges. Ramaswamy says, “ The problem right now is that AI is increasingly getting better at solving these minute problems that expert engineers used to be so good at.” So where does that leave these expert engineers and others who feel uncertain as AI absorbs parts of their job? “ It's a lot more right now about organizing work, and sort of coordinating it, and exercising an amount of judgement. It's a very different skill.” That's where reinvention comes into play. How are you working with AI agents and redefining your role? Share in the comments.

  • Hot take 🔥Your vision board won’t save you. For years, we’ve been told to visualize the life we want: the dream house, the fancy car, the perfect job. But as Nir Eyal, author of “Beyond Belief,” explains, research shows that focusing on the outcome can actually reduce motivation. In experiments by psychologist Gabriele Oettingen, people were asked to vividly imagine the goals they wanted to achieve while connected to blood pressure monitors. Their blood pressure dropped. It was as if their brain was saying: You already made it. Relax. And afterward, they were less likely to do the things required to achieve the goal. The better approach is something called mental contrasting. Picture the goal. Then picture the obstacles in your way. That’s what athletes do. They don’t just imagine the win, they imagine what it will take to get there. For more motivation hacks from Eyal, check out his full conversation with Jessi Hempel on Hello Monday: https://lnkd.in/ejvzg7rx

We treat our beliefs as truths. We’d be better served thinking of them as tools. This week on Hello Monday, I talked to Nir Eyal — author of Hooked and now Beyond Belief — about why the self-help industry has gotten belief completely backwards. We think of beliefs like facts: fixed, provable, something to defend. But Nir argues they're actually tools — and like any tool, the question isn't whether they're true. It's whether they're working. A few things that genuinely shifted how I think: → Helplessness is our default state. We aren't taught to be helpless — we're born that way. What we have to learn is hope. And agency. → Motivation is a triangle, not a straight line. Behavior + benefit + belief. If any corner collapses, you quit — no matter how badly you want the outcome. → You don't have to change your beliefs. You just have to collect more of them. Think Pokemon cards, not courtroom arguments. → Visualizing outcomes is actively harmful. (Yes, really. The research is not kind to vision boards.) This conversation surprised me. I hope it surprises you too. 🎥 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gwbUM5rY   🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gbApx_SR   🎧  Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gtptWAGA

  • How do you make sure you're getting the best of the best when building a team from scratch? “I remember when I was starting Semafor, I was sitting at my kitchen table and I just spent days and days and days making like 500 phone calls a day,” SEMAFOR Co-founder and CEO Justin B. Smith tells LinkedIn Editor in Chief Daniel Roth. On these calls, Smith asked, " What's the most amazing talent that's so happy that would never actually consider leaving their job because they're so cherished where they are?” By doing this, certain names would rise to the top. “That’s where the best talent is,” Smith says. And while most people consider these candidates "ungettable," Smith only sees potential. “ If you ask enough intelligent people where the best talent is, the diagram will sort of form itself and you'll end up with all arrows pointing at like one or two people.” What's your secret formula to hiring high-quality talent? • 51% of the population. Not exactly a niche audience. And yet, when Tamsen Fadal set out to make The M Factor — a documentary about menopause and its impact on women’s lives and careers — she was told “there was no audience.” Fadal, journalist and producer of the film, says it’s a major loss for businesses if they’re not paying attention to this group of women. “The goal is to retain women who are incredibly knowledgeable in their careers — women in midlife who bring deep experience and perspective.” And most importantly: “Make sure women are never penalized for being in this transition in their life.” But first, she says, companies need to be willing to talk about it. “For me, facilitating conversation around a topic nobody wanted to talk about meant getting a little louder — even when it wasn’t comfortable.” Real change, she says, doesn’t come from trying to change minds. It starts by changing information and shifting conversation. So what can companies do? Start by listening to what women actually need — including benefits like flexible days and hours. What other policies could help women bring their best selves to work? Tell us in the comments.
