Yigal Adato shared thisIt’s not the right time! I get this response once in a while from business owners who either we reach out to or shockingly who reach out to me. The sad part about this is that most of the time the same owners come back a year or two later when things are harder to work on. Think about it this way. Your car has to get an oil change ever x amount of miles. If you service it, it runs well. If you don’t it, usually holds up but underneath the hood there is havoc starting to grow. You can drive a few thousand miles over without really feeling the pain but then it hits. -Parts start grinding instead of gliding -Heat builds up because nothing is properly cooled -Dirt and metal particles circulate through the engine -Components wear out faster… then start failing And that’s exactly what happens to your business if your leaders aren’t actually leading. 1. You’re repeating yourself more than you should. 2. Standards drop without anyone noticing. 3. Small issues keep turning into big problems 4. Miscommunication starts to cost you money. Leadership development is no longer a nice to have, it is a MUST have in your business. The last thing I ever want is an owner saying “Yigal we should have done this years ago.” Unfortunately it happens often. Don’t let it happen to you!

You say you want growth, better teams, more results… but you haven’t actually defined what great leadership looks like for you. 2. You’re not having the hard conversations. You see the issues. You feel them. But you let them slide… and now they’ve become your standard. 3. You’re not building real connection. You talk to your team… but you don’t truly see them. So they work for you, but they’re not with you. 4. You’re not holding standards. You say one thing… but you allow another. And your team always follows what you tolerate, not what you say. 5. You’re not leading yourself. You’re reacting, rushing, putting out fires instead of showing up with intention, discipline, and ownership. So you stay stuck. Not because you can’t lead… but because you haven’t unlocked the leader within you. And until you do… you’ll keep paying the price In your team. In your business. And in your life.

Yigal Adato shared thisAfter training 1000’s of people I have learned one important lesson. Teaching someone leadership without unlocking their mind and heart doesn’t work. It’s like trying to drive a car with a mud covered windshield and no working wipers. People have subconscious baggage that just blocks information from being retained. It’s why 10 years ago I created the Unlock the Leader framework and have had massive leadership transformations with it.

Yigal Adato shared this“The first thing we are going to learn is how to hold the football.” I was walking around the park this morning when I hear the coach tell these adorable little kids what they are going to do first. He then went on for 15 minutes on how to hold the football and how to run with it. He made sure every kid knew how to do it before they moved on to the next thing. In companies, we often forget to go back to the basics and make sure that those in leadership positions have the leadership skills necessary. Instead of how to hold a football, we keep expecting them to make touchdowns. Instead of practicing with them, we throw them into the game expecting them to win. If you have people in your company who are leading others and have never had leadership development, maybe that’s why they are throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball.
