Just 2 min
I usually take a yoga class about 3 times a week and today was one of those days. I wake up about 5:15 am I do my breathing exercise and then get ready to leave around 5:45 am. This morning was no different except for the fact that I fell back asleep during my breathing.
I jumped out of bed and started to get ready and I told myself that I'll just be 2 min late, there shouldn't be a problem. Plus, I know the teacher well by now and she won't mind that I just walk in quietly and pick up where they are.
I packed my gear and got in my car to drive about 2 miles to Yoga place.
I got out of my car with confidence and from afar looked inside and realized that Marcia wasn't sitting at the desk like usual. It didn't matter, I proceeded to walk up to the door and try to open it only to find it was locked. I looked at my phone and thought to myself
"This sucks I'm only 2 min late."
Just imagine if every time you were 2 min late the door would be locked, your friend would leave the restaurant if you were meeting for lunch, or even worse you lost your job or that big sale.
2 minutes late is LATE. 2 minutes late is not on time or isn't "only 2 min late". Try to do everything in your power to be on time not just for the other person but for you as well. Being on time is a sign of self-respect and self-leadership.
Now I am not saying don't ever be late, I know things happen in life out of our control but least make the effort or call the person who will be sitting there waiting for you.
If you agree to turn something in or finish something if it's not going to be done then let the other person know in advance.
Tomorrow I am waking up and getting to class on time because the last thing I want is to be locked out of opportunity again.
