Themed “The Future of Leadership”, the event saw next-generation leaders exchanging new ideas and discussing solutions to address pressing global challenges, including leveraging innovation and technology to drive positive change in areas like climate action, healthcare, and inclusive growth. As Asia's leading biomedical hub with world-class clinical research facilities, #Singapore was the ideal host for the 25th World Congress of Dermatology (WCD2023) — the city’s largest medical convention to date. Held in Southeast Asia for the first time, WCD2023 convened over 12,000 delegates from 150 countries to discuss crucial scientific breakthroughs, catalysing meaningful exchange and collaborations aimed at advancing global skin health. The congress shone a spotlight on neglected tropical skin diseases, championed talent development through scholarships for young dermatologists to attend the event, while going green with sustainability initiatives and fundraising for local charity Garden City Fund. #TheMeetingsShowAPAC made a strong comeback in Singapore last week from April 16-17. Co-located with the inaugural #BusinessTravelShowAPAC, the two shows convened more than 1,800 delegates from over 72 countries at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre for an action-packed gathering filled with meetings, networking and education programmes. ✨ Together with 28 #Singapore partners - across venues, hotels and destination management companies - we made meaningful connections with event planners and showcased how Singapore is the choice destination to host exceptional business events that make an impact. Guests were also treated to a delicious variety of Singaporean delights from locally-inspired cocktails to nyonya bites. 💚Staying true to our sustainability goals, the Singapore Pavilion incorporated recycled and reusable materials for its furnishings, including sustainably-sourced wood. Dr. Edward KOH, STB’s Executive Director, also shared Singapore’s strategies for environmentally and socially responsible event management in a sustainability panel discussion. We unveiled our ambitions for the #MICE sector under Tourism 2040 — the long-term roadmap to drive the next bound of quality tourism growth for Singapore — at the Tourism Industry Conference 2025. With the global MICE market set to double in value over the next decade and Asia Pacific driving this growth, #Singapore is well placed to capture a larger share of this high-value segment. STB aims to grow MICE tourism receipts threefold by 2040. Tech Week Singapore 2024 drove critical dialogue on AI and transformative technologies, shaping the future of digital transformation across Asia.  The premier technology event convened over 26,000 global industry leaders, innovators and 500 exhibitors at Marina Bay Sands from 9-10 October. Through seven specialised shows—Cloud Expo Asia, DevOps Live, Cyber Security World, Data Centre World, Big Data & AI World, eCommerce Expo, and Technology for Marketing—the event's 10th edition showcased technological advancements and their impact on businesses, governments, and society. With over 550 international speakers from leading organisations such as Google, NVIDIA, OpenAI, and United Nations, the event facilitated critical discussions around cutting-edge technology. #Singapore hosted the GSTC2024 Global Sustainable Tourism Conference for the very first time from November 13-16. Organised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and held at Resorts World Sentosa, the event convened over 500 travel industry leaders and professionals from 55 countries as they exchanged valuable insights and forged collaborations to advance sustainable travel. Event highlights include:  🎢 Unveiling the new GSTC Attraction Criteria - a set of global sustainability standards developed specially for attractions, with the support of Singapore Tourism Board. 🌲Empowering participants with insights, inspirational case studies and practical skills centred around sustainable tourism practices. 🏝️Showcasing sustainable tourism in action with post-conference tours of Resorts World Sentosa, the Southern Islands, Mandai Wildlife Reserve and Gardens by the Bay. 🙋♀️Leading by example through green practices adopted at the conference from minimising waste, eliminating single-use plastics, to digitising physical materials.. ✈️ Encouraging attendees to calculate and offset their flight emissions, and rewarding participants with pre-loaded transportation cards to use on Singapore’s public transport network. GSTC also partnered with environmental service provider Green Evolution  to measure the event’s emissions from travel and activities, ensuring they were fully offset.
