"Mummy, see you're in a book!" This was what one of the incredible women at the GTA Black Women In Tech Celebration and Networking event said about how being featured has changed her life. That struck a chord in me! The fact that it had ripple effect down to her kids was just enough for me. I heard other beautiful stories of how this has been a unique and transformational experience down to family and friends, both personally and career-wise. And I can tell you for sure, this is an experience of a lifetime and one I would hold dear to my heart. It means a lot to me that I am willing to cross the hurdles to commit to it and show up just like I did yesterday. If I had just one word to describe last night, it would be - wealthy! I know, not your typical one but that's how it was to me. The people and their stories. The place and the intentionality. The pictures and the deep sense of belonging. All rich! Rich enough to keep you motivated about showing up unapologetically, giving your message a voice and winning without limitations! Thanks for the opportunity! Flavilla Fongang Thanks for being such a great host Daniela C. It was nice meeting you again, Gayle Thompson-Igwebike and connecting with you Amber Netochukwu “Neto” Onuoha Fide Aluko Hannah Spence! P.S. - Loved the branding too!💛 #GTAblackwomenintech #blackwomentech #Leadership #Networking #Community #Techindustry #Womenintech #Inclusion

  • If your organisation says diversity matters, does your retention data prove it?  Corporate Social Responsibility in tech cannot stop at hiring. Recruiting Black women into your organisation is one step. Retaining, advancing and amplifying them is the real work. In the UK, Black women remain significantly underrepresented across technical and senior roles. The issue isn’t talent. It’s structure. We know that when Black women thrive in tech: – Innovation strengthens – Retention improves – Leadership pipelines diversify – Brand credibility deepens This is why GTA Black Women In Tech works with organisations through structured brand and talent solutions, supporting companies that want to move from intention to implementation. From community engagement and leadership visibility to talent pipeline initiatives and curated access to Black women in tech, we partner with organisations ready to do the work properly. The question isn’t whether diverse talent exists. It’s whether your systems are built to support it. If your organisation is reviewing its CSR, ESG or talent strategy this year, let’s have a strategic conversation.

In my time leading the Adobe Black Employee Network, part of my focus was always on how all employee resource groups for minority demographics could work together as intersectional force multipliers. So I’m particularly happy, and not in the least bit surprised, to see Stela putting this ethos into practice. If you’re going to sponsor someone in the spring events season (and let’s face it, you are), consider putting some coins here alongside mine.

Last week, I made an early announcement about the launch of the first black woman speaker bureau. We are now accepting submissions, and the waiting list for companies interested in hiring Black female speakers is now open. Wait! Because we do things differently. We are proud to introduce the Global Black Women Speaker Bureau. We provide direct access to credible, experienced, high-impact Black women across business, technology, finance, AI, culture, leadership, policy, entrepreneurship, and beyond. These are women of calibre, the kind who command rooms, shape thinking, and deliver real value in boardrooms, institutions, and global organisations.   And we have removed the friction that has held far too many brilliant voices back. No gatekeeping. No exploitation. No 20–30% commission fees.   For Black women with credible expertise, submitting your profile is completely free. We do not charge commission. We do not take an agency cut. We do not monetise your speaking fees. You keep what you earn, as you should.   For organisations, booking is direct. No traditional agency model. No hidden percentages. No inflated speaker fees. Just clear, professional access to exceptional expertise.   If you’re a corporate brand, university, conference organiser, leadership team, media platform, or institution serious about meaningful representation, this is your direct access to credible Black female experts. Join the waiting list for early access.   If you’re a Black woman who is a subject matter expert, founder, senior leader, technologist, strategist, creative, or policy leader seeking paid speaking opportunities and greater visibility, you are invited to submit your profile. Selection is curated and not guaranteed; excellence is the standard.   If you’re ready for excellence without barriers, join the waiting list or submit your profile. GTA Black Women In Tech will also be growing via SIXTH HIVE #speakerbureau #internationalspeaker https://lnkd.in/epYeTbYn
