This is a significant opportunity for firms supporting network and IT infrastructure across Maryland. What stands out is the multiple-award structure and the intentional inclusion goals. Both create real entry points for qualified small, minority, and veteran-owned businesses. If this aligns with your capabilities, it’s worth reviewing early and preparing thoughtfully. Tag a company that should see this. #MarylandBusiness #GovernmentContracting #ProcurementOpportunities #MBE #ITServices

It’s been months since I told you I was going to share more about the Hackathon Summer we had...well now its snowing and we still don't have a winners announcement that we expected, but I didn't want the year to close out without the flowers. In July we submitted project ReadShift to the Google Deepmind Gemma3n Impact Hackathon on Kaggle. There are two stories here: The Product we built together, and the Workspace developed to help it happen. The official results are pending (forever, seemingly), but the internal results are conclusive: We built a winning product. Thank you to the July BWIT team for being amazing (and patient!): 1. The Product: ReadShift (The Team Win) Our team: - Lori Mitchell - Founder BWIT, Project Role: Developer/DBA - Tyger McClendon - Instructional Designer, Project Role: UX/UI, Marketing - Bernice Jackson - Fractional Website Strategist, Project Role: Front-End Developer and I serve as the BWIT CInO, Hackathon Lead, Strategist and Lead, AI Integration Engineer We developed an offline-first, dyslexia assistive technology tool using Google's Gemma3n model. We tackled and solved a massive problem for kids who learn differently. Features: Talk, Don't Type: Voice-based, AI engagement interaction Offline First: Works without Wi-Fi for children's protection and privacy Real-Time Help: Instant feedback when a child gets stuck. 2. The Engine: The Operations Hub (by Technikole) After running into workflow issues during a previous hackathon, I decided we needed a better way to work. So, before we wrote a single line of code for ReadShift, I architected and built a custom internal workspace (see the black/pink screenshots below. I built this to manage deliverables, timeline, upload trends, and real time communications. This was not a part of the hackathon requirements. It was my requirement for excellence. Collectively, we shipped a finished product and I built a custom project management ecosystem to do it. We are ready for 2026. This is exactly how I’m running Innovation Labs and hackathons next year—with infrastructure that actually supports the builders with the AI to back it up. #BlackWomenInTech #AI #AppSheet #ReadShift #ProjectManagement #GoogleAI #Technikole For more information about ReadShift contact: info2@blackwomenintech.com For more information on Hackathons and AI Labs by Technikole contact (specially curated for small businesses and nonprofits): info@technikole.com #Readshift https://lnkd.in/eZJMRfhN Black Women in Technology Technikole Consulting NiKole "Technikole" Maxwell Lori Mitchell, BS, RRT Bernice Jackson Tyger M. #DyslexiaAwareness #InnovationLabs #AI #Google #DeepMind #CInO #CIO #innovation #Gemma3n #Impact #Operations #AssistiveTechnology #developer #dev #implementation #smallbusiness #nonprofit

Google Gemini 3 Has Arrived!!👀🎉 #Gemini 3 is #Google’s newest, most advanced AI model. Gemini 3 is a reasoning model, which changes how you should prompt. In short, it is smarter, faster, and much better at "seeing" and "hearing" the world than previous versions. 👏🏽By default, Gemini 3 is less verbose and prefers providing direct, efficient answers. New Features: 👀💡"Shader Pilot" - build a complex customizable 3D world 👀 so I said: "Create a cartoon world in the style of Doc McStuffins at Christmas." I got a cartoon 3D world that I can get up and walk around inside of (with a terraform viewer)...#metaverse 📃Research Visualization - transform a research paper into an interactive site I took a research report and turned it to a snapshot of the #shutdown ➡️"Weathering the Stalemate: 2025 (From Federal to FREE)" Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/erFisTMs Get yours here: https://lnkd.in/eSFMj4yn Gemini 3 introduces granular control over multimodal vision processing via the media_resolution parameter. Higher resolutions improve the model's ability to read fine text or identify small details, but increase token usage and latency. The media_resolution parameter determines the maximum number of tokens allocated per input image or video frame. Understand that this means the world for folks with limited ability read fine print --- everyone over 40! Upgrade alerts: 🚨 PDF & document understanding: Default OCR resolution for PDFs has changed. If you relied on specific behavior for dense document parsing, test the new media_resolution_high setting to ensure continued accuracy. 🚨Token consumption: Migrating to Gemini 3 Pro defaults may increase token usage for PDFs but decrease token usage for video. If requests now exceed the context window due to higher default resolutions, we recommend explicitly reducing the media resolution. 🚨Thinking: If you were previously using complex prompt engineering (like Chain-of-thought) to force Gemini 2.5 to reason, try Gemini 3 with thinking_level: "high" and simplified prompts. 🚨 Temperature settings: If your existing code explicitly sets temperature (especially to low values for deterministic outputs), we recommend removing this parameter and using the Gemini 3 default of 1.0 to avoid potential looping issues or performance degradation on complex tasks. 🚨Image segmentation: Image segmentation capabilities (returning pixel-level masks for objects) are not supported in Gemini 3 Pro. For workloads requiring native image segmentation, we recommend continuing to utilize Gemini 2.5 Flash with thinking turned off or Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5. There is more but I'm going back to testing the release! #Google #Technikole #Gemini3 #productRelease #AI #MultiModalAI #GenAI #image #video #vibecode #federal #FederaltoFREE #dev

📸 Pre-game pep talk before TEDxApex Leadership is not easy. Whether it’s as a TEDx Curator or a business owner, it requires heart, clarity, and balance. It’s hard not to love every person you lead — every speaker, volunteer, or teammate who pours their energy into something bigger than themselves. But leadership also means: 💬 Communicating clearly ⚖️ Setting boundaries 🎯 Holding high expectations — with empathy The best teams thrive when love and accountability coexist. That’s what I reminded our TEDx team before we opened the doors — and honestly, it’s the same advice I give myself as a founder every day. {It's the look on Alan Hoffler's face for me. BEST speaker coach ever} @ SAS #Leadership #TEDx #WomenInLeadership #Communication #Entrepreneurship #EventLeadership
