We caught up with Juliana Oliveira, Global Lead Manager at Thoughtworks and one of the final 51 women featured in The Voices In The Shadow Vol. 5. For Juliana, being a Black woman in tech isn’t just about personal growth; it’s about opening doors for others and creating a space where more women can join and thrive in the field. “What I love most about being a Black woman in tech is the sense of belonging. Sometimes, or most of the time, we are the only Black woman in the room. So for me, it’s important to be here and see how I can be part of something bigger.” Her advice to other Black women in tech? “Be generous with yourself. Never forget that we carry the strength, the beauty, and the dreams of those who came before us. So go forward courageously.” Juliana’s journey is a reminder that representation matters, and that showing up for yourself and others is a powerful way to build community, confidence, and opportunity. ✨ Nominations for The Voices In The Shadow Vol. 6 are now open!
