jiyen235, 20 Nov 2025the gaming phone with more space has less battery and just as mediocre speakers and vibration ... moreYou're a very stubborn man. You won't even feel the difference in autonomy compared to the Oneplus 15 or other competitors because it's small. A phone even with 13-14 h active use score will last you a whole day without any problems, let alone these that have 20+ h active use score. That one has 23 and that one has 20 or another has 21 are imperceptible differences in daily usage. If the Rm11 only had 10 h active use score then the difference would be felt in reality. As for charging for real? 10 minutes more is crap, you don't even feel it. And the autonomy is better than the previous generation with all the new thermal improvements.
I prefer to have less autonomy but more stability and better experience while gamig.
PS: Poco F8 ultra will have same issues with the temps like any other mainstream phone so it's pointless. Loom at op15 and gt 8 pro how hot they are outside after the tests...almost melting.

A gaming phone has far more space and less excuses. The battery is an absolute joke. The only reasons to get a gaming phone are battery life, charging speed, bezelless screen, thermals and speakers. Redmagic didnt have good speakers but they had everything else, at a very low price. Now although they're giving an 8 elite gen 5, the battery is worse than nearly every other mainstream phone and charging is not equivalent to, let alone faster, than others.
Too many cons, not enough pros. Maybe I was spoiled by the redmagic 9's impeccable value proposition back when it came out, but this is just not worth it in my eyes. When the IQOO 15 and Poco F8 Ultra come, which are supposed to be around the same price, what would even be the point of this?
A cool phone seem nice in theory but apart from maxed out gacha games, you wont be needing such beefy cooling to keep these phones cool. Chips have advanced a lot in efficiency. Competitive games dont use too much power. And even if you did use the cooler for gacha games, how'll the battery life be? 😹😹.
Awful all around. Again, I respect the innovations in cooling with water resistance, the continuation of a bezelless screen and the under display camera. But I just don't see what this phone actually has to offer that makes it worth it. The software is atrocious, the updates don't last for more than a year properly so it doesn't have software as a positive either.
Gaming phones need to have AT LEAST either exceptional battery life, exceptional charging or exceptional speakers. These make the multimedia experience better. When a media oriented phone is not good at media oriented stuff, you can see why I say it sucks. It could've come with a 1 tb model at this price or at the very least an sd card slot to truly make it good. You can always use a type-c earphone or dongle, but you can't have a portable ssd without hogging loads of space. An sd card would've been beneficial. They don't even have that.

What makes the 3.5mm jack worth it otherwise? Like literally you have excellent cheap buds available. You just have a lack of knowledge.

Bluetooth is horrifically unreliable and when the devices fail they're literal e-waste, the one and only time I bought a TWS they stopped charging in 5 weeks. It was a name brand one too. The adapters aren't much better, I think the most I ever got out of one was 3 months because it just stopped working. Meanwhile the IEMs they're connected to that I've had since 2021 have been through the washing machine with the only casualty being the mesh over the drivers, they still work great. I don't care about the audio quality, I'm not listening to FLACs and it's for outside where external noises will ruin audio quality anyway, I just want it to work without fail and the 3.5mm port on my ZF10 has done exactly that.
You say it's too much emphasis, but some people here are willing to pay double what this phone costs just for expandable storage. Don't get me wrong Sony makes good stuff it's just way overpriced. At least this is prices in line with others.
Also if you think I'm a fanboy of one brand or another then know this is my 6th different phone brand in 6 different phones, 7 if you count the Nokia Asha. I don't even look at the brand.

I admit that compared with OnePlus 15 the battery life is not so good, but I would call the OnePlus exceptionally good (and the Oppo that is the same company), no other phone come close.
Compared to other top phones battery life is not so bad (comparable to the Xiaomi 17 Pro max, and beating the Rog, iPhone or Samsung top of the line).
Sure I would like it to be better and loosing charging speed is sad, but on battery life it is still miles ahead of the Redmagic 10pro. And personally the charging speed is not an issue, I always uses battery management options to charge slower than the max speed (but someone else may need that speed).
Which generation the redmagic had double the battery life of other phones?
Bl457Xor, 20 Nov 2025Yes if you spend 40%+ more, you have better phones (except raw performances). What a surprise.... morehorrible excuse, redmagic used to have double the battery life of other phones with the same charging rate.
Now you have worse battery life with slightly worse charging speeds. That's not at all acceptable. I love how fanboys accept mediocrity regardless of company. Apple fanboys are always eating cus at least those phones are good albeit overpriced.

If someone wants a gamer phone and spend flagship money, he can get the new Asus ROG when it comes out (and live with an hole in the screen and probably less performances).
This phone is for gamers or people that can't stand "innovations" that Apple popularized:
- Removing 3.5mm Jack.
- Putting holes in screens.
- Adding camera bumps (btw this phone is 8.9mm thick the iphone air at the camera bump is 11.3mm thick)
Mainly you have only to sacrifice photo quality, the other specs are generally good (even if not the best) and the price for an Elite gen 5 is hard to beat (considering it is the phone that makes the best usage of its performances sustained or not for now at least).

Go on and praise the gaming performances but you guys are excusing absolutely mediocre battery and charging. Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, a camera phone with 2 screens, has better speakers, charging and battery life. This phone is an absolute joke.
Design wise I prefer this phone over Z80 Ultra, because It doesnt have camera bumps.
Both of them have great looks, but I prefer the non-transparent back of 11 pro over the transparent one.
If I had to chose and they cost the same, I would go for Z80 Ultra, because I am not a gamer, better camera and higher IP rating are preferable to me over sustained performance and gaming features.

And battery life is pretty good, Oneplus 15 manages better runtimes, true but this phone is still among the best ones. And charging to full kapacity is under 1hour so still very good although Its weird It takes 20min longer than the predecessor.

This phone provides ~20-25% better sustained GPU or CPU performance as shown in the review.
Depending on what is the preference of the buyer, gaming or taking photos you can choose one or the other, nothing complicated.

And you dont like cameras? okay then dont use em? If you dont game and dont need cameras, you'd be fine with a fairphone.
This phone doesnt have the best charging, the best cameras, the best battery life nor does it have great value. You're giving so much emphasis to the 3.5mm jack when it's just a mediocre dac at best. What do you even use it for, headphones or iems? iems can be run alright but headphones? No way...
It seems this phone's fanbase is just as weird as the phone itself. I can see the appeal for a gamer who needs peak performance but even then, the battery life and charging are just mediocre.

Somebody who's trying to use their phone in place of a dedicated camera isn't going to want this, meanwhile mobile gamers or someone who just wants to plug their wired headphones in without fuss isn't going to be a fan of the Z80 Ultra.

Yes the Z80 ends up cheaper if you get either of the other two storage configurations but I suspect the middle one will be most popular on both.
Personally I couldn't care less about the cameras, the only time I even use phone cameras is to document things which hardly needs the best cameras out there (if I'm going somewhere where it's worth taking good pictures of things I'm carrying my mirrorless anyway). On the flip side the 3.5mm this has over the Z80 is something I use all the time on my current phone so it's non negotiable for me to have that. Really the 3.5mm is the only reason I bought this or the ZF10 it's replacing (yes it's that important for me, I can't stand wireless or the adapters).
Not really a mobile gamer so I can't comment on that, but from what I can tell this sustains higher GPU performance than anything else with the CPU.
