Had you managed to read and comprehend my comment you would have noticed that 1,5 thousand wasn't about headphones but phones. A colleague has indeed recently bought a new iPhone for "1,5K" because her storage was full; my wife bought herself a 75 or whatever Euro microSD and now has in total more storage space than she with a shiny new iPhone 😃
Since you mention "1,5K headphones", I do own a pair of Denon AH-D9200. They sound beautiful and will probably last me a lifetime while people buying BT HPs every other or every 4 years will waste several times that over years and never once hear sound that can remotely match that from my Denons. IMO quite a waste of money, but if you like paying much more for far less, enjoy that. 🤷♂️
No idea what "Sony MX3" is, Google also gives me no results. Perhaps you mean WH-1000XM3? I actually have those too, got them as a bundle with my Xperia. Never really did it for me regarding sound quality/tuning, too bassy, too muddy, I don't know, plus, of course, over BT it's only lossy codecs, with high-bitrate LDAC which would be acceptable for casual listening there's the occasional irritating stuttering, so they only got, I don't know, 10, maybe 20 hours of music playing in the almost 4 years I got them. They do serve me well for Teams meetings when I'm in Home-Office, but that's also very rare, so can't really comment on their longevity.
Wife's Sony buds that were bundled with her Xperia did (i.e. one bud's battery) die after about two years. I just find the idea of basically disposable headphones, which are without a battery an extremely durable product, ridiculous. Another colleague recently bought new AirPods for the same reason, that's what my original comment was about.
Over 15 years ago I had one of the first BT stereo headsets, the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS 980, and nothing's really changed since. Those also died after less than two years, got a new set under warranty that lasted just as long. A detachable adapter(s) like the one from Shure that I recently got for my wife is at least somewhat less ridiculous idea, will report how long those last in a (hopefully) couple of years. At least then I don't have to throw away perfectly good and functional relatively expensive headphones but just the adapter(s) if the battery or whatever dies. The headphones can still be used with a cable, with better sound quality too since lossless music, even in 2025, still isn't an option over Bluetooth. That's equally ridiculous, but whatever. One day, perhaps...

Change headphones every 2 years because the battery died? If you could ever afford in your life a 1,5K headphones, you would know that the battery lasts easily up to 4 years. I have friends with Sony MX3 headphones and the battery still lasts very good. But I guess you can never know that because you can't afford such premium headphone, the cheap ones you're using died after 2 years 🤣. Spend 1,5K when you're storage is full. That happenes when you can barely afford a high end smartphone but you buy the 128gb base model 🤣🤣.
Stop smoking weed cause you're tripping badly. And another tip, make sure you know what you're talking about when you're trying to look smart, cause when you don't, you look the opposite, I'm sure you understand what I mean 😉. " I prefer spending money intelligently " 🤣🤣

Sony could set the price at 999 for xperia 1, 799 for 5 and 349 for 10 which would be a very attractive price for their device. They could simply advertise heavily online and sell online only with premium shipping from Sony store or through Amazon.
I have a Xperia 1 iii and a iphone (daily driver) and i won't buy another xperia for 1400/1500 bucks.
For 999? Sure i would.

Xperia 1VII is available only in these European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK.
On contrary Walkmans are available almost across the whole Europe.

If everything that you guys like... moreGood for you (I guess? 🤷♂) and for the manufacturers that they can just be so lazy as to e.g. just punch a huge hole through the screen as well as remove feature after feature to save costs and the average consumer just "doesn't care" and is even proud that he doesn't care; his main concern is obviously that it's a shiny new expensive thing so he can be "cool".
It's so cute to look at these that do not care whine when while paying hundreds of euros for new BT headphones because the battery on the old ones died after 2 years or 1,5k when their storage is full. I prefer to use my money intelligently, but to each their own. 🤷♂

Lower midrange could be bought for 200+ euros and then the prices rises all the way to the Ultra model. So, they covered every niche on the market.

I have a LG G8x, but I could've changed phones every 2-3 years at least, had LG remained in the business and kept their "all rounder, yet focus on music" formula.

I just had a suspicion.
When Nokia tried to give us comparatively private phones, they shut down after a director came from USA.
When LG tried to give us great all rounder phones in Android, for whatever reason they shut down.
Now, Sony is almost on the same path.
Is something really controlling the smartphone market? Why are their phones in problem? They know to make phones and have no lackage of experts.
Will we ever peacefully get an Android flagship with inbuilt high quality DAC, 3.5mm jack and microSD slot, display being lower than 6.7 inch?

Xperia was the last of the legacy android brands with Samsung. Now 95% of android brands are Chinese. Only Pixel and Samsung are left. Maybe Fairphone but that's it.
The death of Sony Ericsson and Nokia also illustrate the long and painful European industrial decline.
