Anonymous, 29 May 2025What quality you need than a well performing device ?? You need metal shield phones ?? with... morebro's getting mad like i dissed his wife or sumn lmao

im not saying you need to make the phone out of carbon fiber, im just saying the phone needs to be of flagship grade, worth its asking price. The hardware itself is already not good enough and with the third party thing, the build quality is gonna be worse/actually be, thus you get both poor hardware and poor build quality.

You might like getting duped by companies, but I dont. I dont think spending so much on a phone and getting cheaply made stuff in return is good. The only reason Chinese phones made in India get a pass imo is cus they're genuinely cheaper than their competitors like Apple or Samsung phones from what i've seen, like 100-400 dollars cheaper at times. Unless Sony does a similar price cut, this just means Sony's cheaping out on the product and the consumer pays regardless. Like a paypig.

Anonymous, 29 May 2025They already have I think. Quality has been deteriorating for few years now. The Xperia 5II ... morethat was just the base quality based on what they designed.

Now they're gonna have issues from production, for example cheaper materials/poorer fit and finish and stuff. Indian made Chinese phones are extremely cheap compared to European models but they're also lower quality than the Chinese models for example.

Ideally Sony should reach out to other manufacturers to mitigate certain weaknesses it has in developing/marketing/selling smartphones (both hardware and software wise), while it keeps certain amount of control to ensure unique features like MicroSD card and Headphone jack are still retained.

for few years now. The Xperia 5II was much better quality than 5V.

This comes at a time when Xperia 5 series is discontinued. This maybe a sign Sony will eventually get rid off its smartphone business.

Similar things happened to Nokia and LG. Sony maybe looking for buyers to sell their smartphone businesses to.

Samsung is doing this with some of their accessories, and ALL of those accessories are sh*t. You cannot do much quality control from another country. You need people on the spot. Otherwise it's some random village manager that makes decisions on the manufacturing line on your behalf. Not a great direction for the end customer who is paying the price not just out of pocket, but for the remainder of the devices' lifecycle.
