Expanding Access to the Workforce

Most people don’t struggle because they lack ability. They struggle because they lack access.

Access to education. Access to opportunity. Access to a clear starting point.

Supporting the workforce and expanding that access has been the focus of my career. Yes, corporate training helps us keep the lights on. But the real reason I do this work is because I believe people deserve access to education and opportunity.

Education does not only come from a classroom. It comes through many channels — the written word, videos, training engagements, free speaking events, mentorship, and real-world practice.

For the past 15 years, ThinkData has tried to support the workforce wherever we could. Often that meant partnering with other organizations to provide scholarships, apprenticeships, and workforce pathways.

But something important has changed.

For the first time, we are able to directly offer scholarships and potential funding ourselves.

Recently, ThinkData was accepted onto the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) for both the State of Alabama and the State of Louisiana. This allows us to provide access to training programs that can help individuals move into careers in technology, data, and security.

If someone is looking to start a pathway into tech — whether they are technical or non-technical — our bootcamps are designed as a practical starting point.

Why?

Because data is the glue that connects every role in modern organizations. Understanding data helps people make better decisions, communicate more effectively, and create real impact inside their organizations.

We’ve also set aside scholarships for upcoming bootcamps to help lower the barrier to entry for people who are ready to invest in themselves.

If you’re interested in learning more about the programs or scholarships, you can explore them here:

If you know someone trying to find their path into tech, data, or security — feel free to share this with them.

Sometimes the hardest part of starting is simply knowing where to begin.

Nowadays, almost everyone has at least a cellphone with internet access - and that means access to education, opportunity, and a starting point. The rest are just excuses for not taking actions.

Expanding access to practical training is one of the most effective ways to close the gap between talent and opportunity. When people have a clear entry point into fields like data and technology, it opens pathways not only for individual growth but for stronger, more inclusive workforces. Initiatives that lower financial and informational barriers can make a real difference.
