Ron Barber's 50-year journey with BBT Architects

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

One of the three founding partners of BBT Architects, Ron Barber’s tenure began after graduating from the University of Oregon’s architecture program, a year practicing in Bend with a one-man shop, as well as several years in training and practice with ZGF, a renowned design firm in Portland, Oregon.   With persuasion from David Waldron to collaboratively form a firm ready for the expectation of explosive growth and development in Central Oregon, Ron moved to Bend to establish (WHB) Waldron Huston Barber Architects with Dave Waldron and Neal Huston in 1976.   After navigating the 80s recession, and various transitions and mergers, Waldron departed the firm and (WHB) expanded to include Jim Barrett and Todd Turner as partners in 1985, thus becoming (HBBT) Huston Barber Barrett Turner. In 1988 - after Neal Huston launched his own residential design practice - Barber, Barrett, and Turner remained as the three partners and abbreviated the firm’s name to BBT Architects.   Ron played a major role in BBT’s earliest K-12 educational projects in multiple school districts and was instrumental in developing long-term client relationships with the Redmond and Bend La Pine School Districts. He served in overall firm management, technical issues, and sustainability, becoming one of the first architects to become a LEED-certified design professional.   In 2010, Ron charted a new course beyond BBT and ventured to Oahu, Hawaii where he continues to practice architecture to this day! ***Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gVUCKaZj #BBTArchitects #50years #EducationDesign #OregonArchitecture #UOArchitecture #ArchitectureLeadership
