We’re delighted to see this event bringing such a strong line-up of voices to the region as part of Birmingham Architectural Association's Women in Architecture Exhibition. An evening that includes Ruth Reed alongside other contributors which promises to be a rich and multi-layered conversation, spanning practice, policy, education and professional leadership. At RIBA West Midlands, we’re committed to championing platforms that elevate diverse experiences and create space for honest reflection about how our profession continues to evolve. Events like this don’t just celebrate achievement, they challenge and inspire the next generation of architects across the Midlands and beyond. Returning to Symphony Hall, this is set to be a powerful evening of insight and dialogue. We encourage RIBA members, practices, students and others from the built environment to attend and be part of the conversation. An evening with Ruth Reed ✨ As part of our Women in Architecture Exhibition this March, we are honoured to welcome Ruth Reed as keynote speaker. Ruth’s career spans architectural practice, planning, professional leadership and education. After leading her own practice, Reed Architects, for 13 years, she went on to work as a planning inspector and later as a professional witness in planning appeals as Director of Green Planning Studio Limited. In 2009, she made history as the first woman President of the RIBA, following senior roles including President of RSAW and RIBA Vice President Membership. Her leadership has shaped national conversations around architectural practice, planning and professional standards. Alongside her professional work, Ruth has played a major role in architectural education as Professor of Architectural Practice and Director of Professional Studies at the Birmingham School of Architecture, and continues to examine on Part III courses. She also serves as Independent Scheme of Management Inspector for the Heritage Foundation of Letchworth Garden City. Her perspective bridges practice, policy and education — making this a keynote not to miss. 🗓️ Tuesday 17 March 📍 Symphony Hall, Birmingham 🎟️ Register: https://lnkd.in/ecVSievm Join us as we celebrate leadership, legacy and the continued impact of women in architecture.
