Our public servants: our police, fire, EMS, military, and healthcare workers, literally carry the world on their shoulders. What they don't always have are healthy outlets for relieving the cumulative and traumatic stress that has ended careers, family's, and even lives. Our mission at Bold Face Flyfishing is to introduce our "everyday heroes" to the peace, excitement, and fellowship that those of us in the flyfishing community already exererience by partnering with flyfishing professionals, para-professionals, commercial ventures, and industry leaders that want to find a practical and fun way of "saying thank you" to those we owe so much...by taking them fishing!
"Bold face" is an aircrew term that are procedures we commit to memory without reference to a checklist. When we are under stress, they become our "autopilot", whether healthy or not. Our vision at BF³ is to give our public servants a "bold face" stress relief technique, so when that "bad call" happens, they have something powerful and cathartic, as well as kind and reliable community they can turn to...and find a way to not carry that burden alone. -

Reduced required power available from 56 hrs of AC power/week to 4 hrs of AC/DC power/week to meet CPAP therapy compliance guidlines, allowing airmen to deploy to austere environments and still receive OSA treatment. Adopted by the Dept of Defense as of December 2019; portable CPAPs with batteries now offered as a TriCare benefit for all active duty service members with OSA that travel on duty or deploy. Counseled 7 active duty servicemembers/commanders/medical teams on benefits; saved 7 deployments.

Authored and implemented the 1st comprehensive aircrew guide to executing Non-Combatant Evacuation Orders(NEO) in 2018. Coalesced 45 years of USAF NEO lessons learned with state-of-the-art aircrew expert experience to create a 26-page pre-planning and execution guide for mobility crews faced with NEO support and little to no prior experience. The guide was accepted and published to every C-5 Galaxy crew member's required electronic publications. Further designed aircrew mission planning training curriculum to prepare crews for NEOs. Two years later, the guide proved instrumental in devising the rapid response plan for Operation: Allies Refuge, the largest aerial Non-Combantant Evacuation in history. The kits designed from the guides direction allowed mobility crews to reduce aircraft turnaround times and both passenger/crew safety, reducing both the number of casualties and safety incidents. The operation successfully evacuated 123,000 personnel in two weeks. I was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal.
