This is a long-awaited milestone — contractors now have clarity on what’s required to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Proof CMMC Just Became a Competitive Differentiator—Not Just a Checkbox The Army dropped a draft RFP for MAPS (Marketplace for the Acquisition of Professional Services), combining RS3 and ITES-3S into a single 10-year, multiple-award IDIQ vehicle. 🚪 Gate Requirement (pass/fail): CMMC Level 2 Self-Assessment required just to be evaluated 📊 Competitive Scoring: ✅ C3PAO certification (Conditional or Final) = 2,000 points ✅ Scheduled C3PAO assessment = 1,000 points ⚠️ Off-Ramp Risk: Failure to obtain required CMMC assessments within timeframes = potential removal from the contract The message is clear: self-assessment gets you in the door, but C3PAO certification gives you a real edge. And if you can't maintain it, you're out. For companies still treating CMMC as a "we'll deal with it later" problem—the competitive math just changed.
