What’s a digital wallet?
A digital wallet is an electronic version of your physical wallet. When you add a card to the digital wallet, its details are encrypted (also known as a token) and stored on your device. This can help you make simple cashless purchases in shops, online or in apps.
What are some of the benefits of having a digital wallet?
Your card details are protected
Your card information is never shared with retailers. The details are replaced with an encrypted number called a token and saved on your device.
Easier checkouts
Make payments online or in apps, without having to fill in your payment details every time. In shops, just tap the contactless reader to pay.
Extra security
Only you can verify payments – using facial or fingerprint recognition, or your device passcode – for an added layer of security.
Card replacements made simple
Your digital wallet is automatically updated with your replacement card details.
Widely accepted worldwide
Digital wallets work wherever contactless payments are accepted in person – or just look out for the contactless symbol in shops or the Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay logos online or in apps.
Which digital wallet is right for you?
Different Wallets are available depending on your device.
