Our charismatic penguins of Bird Paradise are waddling into the spotlight this World Penguin Day! From the sleek-swimming gentoos to the feisty rockhoppers and stately kings. This year, we also welcomed a milestone moment: Bird Paradise’s first-ever gentoo penguin hatchlings! Each of our three new chicks has its own personality, from the shy eldest to the boldest little explorer, they can now be seen waddling proudly with their parents in Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove. Join us in celebrating these incredible birds and discover what goes on behind the scenes in caring for them. Restoring nature, one tree at a time. 🌱 ST Engineering, alongside colleagues from their global business units, joined us in planting 130 trees in and around the Mandai precinct, braving the sun and working hand in hand to create a richer habitat for our wildlife. This initiative supports the regeneration of forested areas impacted by invasive plant species and remnants of past human activity, strengthening biodiversity and restoring a thriving buffer zone. Happy International Bat Appreciation Day! 🦇 Meet our star of the day, the Malayan flying fox! With a wingspan of up to 1.7 metres, they are one of the largest bats in the world. At Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, you might get to see them in action in their exhibits — swooping close as they flap by, and hanging upside-down to feast on their favourite fruits. But in the wild, Malayan flying foxes are under threat due to deforestation and overhunting. As fruit-loving pollinators, these gentle bats play a crucial role in our forests. We’re thrilled to embark on a new chapter with Singapore Tourism Board and Pop Mart International (POP MART) to bring its popular characters such as Labubu and The Monsters to our wildlife parks! 🌿✨   At the Tourism Industry Conference (TIC) 2025, we signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to mark the start of an exciting collaboration that blends wildlife education with pop culture to create novel and meaningful experiences for both our local and international visitors. Visitors can look forward to themed installations, photo opportunities and retail zones offering a variety of merchandise.   Partnerships such as these empower our mission to inspire a love for wildlife through exploring bold possibilities and turning them into unique guest experiences.
