Every successful outcome in veterinary care involves numerous steps and the collaboration of many people — from routine check-ups to complex procedures like safely positioning a giraffe for treatment.
This World Vet Day, Vet Nurses Marcus and Clara share what keeps them going, and the incredible teamwork that makes it all possible. Behind every animal visit, treatment, or recovery is a dedicated team - vets, vet nurses, lab techs, vet keepers, and more.
Truly, animal health takes a team. Happy World Veterinary Day!

Hi everyone, it's Friday. So she my dream job last time was to be a zookeeper. Actually it's the same one because I really love the medical aspects. I used to watch a lot of Grey's Anatomy and stuff and my father just stopped put two and two together. And so when people think about the vet department, the only thing about the veterinarians, but then the actual fact we also have a team of prior clinical staff such as the vet nurses, the vet. Text and also the keepers hello misconception is that witnesses actually just clean up poop, but that's not true or job very seriously. You know so in one area that I feel like people are not really aware of is that we're quite heavily involved with the logistic parts of our work. So we oversee the daily workflow. You also help with the inventory of the pharmacy, maintain and upkeep our equipment, our extreme machines, router or monitoring machines. We kind of little bit of a Jack of all trades where we need to get involved in every little matter and also at the same time we need to know what's going on in different parts of the hospital. And we always have this taboo. Well, you know, let's not say it's a quiet day. They're not going to get lunch on time. You might leave late and then you have all sorts of emergencies coming in. It's a vet nurse. You know, you do many wide range of patients. But here but paradise, when we deal with patients with explosive feces, especially like Penguins, you know, when you have to check temperature up the **** and we lift up the cloacal area and just pieces just out on your uniform everywhere. The greatest joy that I get out of that nursing is actually the care of the patients. We do see them, you know, in every stages of their life and also look after them when they're unwell. I think these are the things that gives me greatest value. Like in my career, you start noticing your patient coming in and then you're so sick, but then you manage to nurse them back to health. That brings you great joy. So another area that I really enjoy about what is actually being able to work together on a procedure like the giraffe or rhino. You know, you get the whole team involved. They're probably like 10 veterinary staff. Well, we're not even our lab techs. Imagine giraffe with long neck, long legs, and then when you want to bring them down, lying on their side. It takes a whole team effort to do that safely. That's the part that I really enjoy. It's not just working with animals itself. You know, working with a very good team is what makes us, you know, look forward to coming Well, each day. I left these jokes. That team is quite tight. We go out for meals after work, cohesion night. Some of us go on holidays together as well. Everyone is just ready to help each other out. Animal health. Animal health takes a team and we love working with our colleagues here at Monday and we strive to keep animals healthy.
This is such an amazing video recognizing the work of the para clinical staff, not just the veterinarians 💙
