DevCheck for iPhone and iPad — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

DevCheck is published by Ex Solutions Inc. ("we"). This policy explains what DevCheck for iOS and iPadOS does with information.

Information that stays on your device

DevCheck reads hardware and system information to show it to you. It also runs tests and benchmarks on your device. The following are stored only on your device and never sent to us:

  • device information;
  • test results;
  • benchmark history;
  • settings;
  • widget data;
  • battery history;
  • Analytics files you choose to import for battery details.

These permissions are used only on your device:

  • Location: shown on the GPS page; not stored or sent.
  • Bluetooth: lists nearby devices.
  • Local network: lists devices on your network.
  • Microphone: shows a live level; nothing is recorded.
  • Motion: the barometer reading.
  • Face ID: the biometrics test; DevCheck only learns whether it passed.

You can turn any of them off in Settings at any time.

Benchmark uploads

Results are uploaded only when you tap Submit on a benchmark run and confirm. An upload contains:

  • the run's scores, test timings, and start and finish times;
  • the device's hardware configuration: model, chip, memory and storage size, display resolution and refresh rate;
  • the iOS version and build number, and the DevCheck version;
  • the device's thermal state, battery level and charging state during the run;
  • a random ID created for that run, and a hash of the model, memory and storage size, which is the same for every device with that configuration;
  • an App Attest key ID: a random identifier created by iOS when DevCheck is installed, sent with each benchmark you submit, or when you tap Check with Apple App Attest on the Verify page. With Apple's App Attest service, it lets our server confirm an upload comes from the genuine DevCheck app on a real Apple device. It identifies the installation, not you, and isn't used for tracking or advertising.

It doesn't contain your name, Apple Account, contact details, location, or advertising identifier. Uploaded runs are combined with others to publish device and chip rankings at devcheck.app and in the DevCheck apps.

Uploaded runs are kept indefinitely, because the rankings are built from the full history. A run holds no IP address, name or account. The server keeps the key ID with its public key to check later uploads; it isn't stored with your benchmark runs. To have a run deleted, email [email protected] with the device model and the date and time of the run.

Our server, like any web server, receives your IP address with each request. Server logs keep it for 14 days and then delete it. To limit uploads, the server keeps a hashed form of the IP address in memory only, for at most 24 hours. An IP address is never stored with a benchmark run or linked to one.

Downloads

Rankings, chip information and benchmark scoring data are downloaded from api.devcheck.app. These requests contain no information about you.

Third parties

When you tap Show on the Network page, DevCheck asks ipify (api.ipify.org) for your public IP address. ipify receives the request like any website would. See ipify's own privacy policy.

devcheck.app and api.devcheck.app are delivered through Cloudflare, which handles each request, including its IP address, to deliver it, as any network provider does.

DevCheck has no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and doesn't sell or share data.

If you buy DevCheck Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details or your Apple Account information.

Children

DevCheck doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
