Nio
+ FollowNio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKEX: 9866) is a Chinese electric vehicle maker founded in 2014 by William Li (Li Bin) and headquartered in Shanghai. The company designs and manufactures premium smart EVs, including the ET and ES series, and operates two mass-market sub-brands: Onvo and Firefly.
Nio is best known for its battery swap network — the largest in the world — which lets drivers exchange a depleted battery for a fully charged one in about three minutes. Through its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, customers can purchase a vehicle without the battery and subscribe to it separately, lowering the upfront cost.
