The company builds the ultra-luxury Maextro brand in partnership with Huawei — whose Maextro S800 flagship sedan targets the Maybach segment — and sells EVs under its JAC Yiwei brand, alongside its traditional lineup of light trucks, pickups and commercial vehicles.
JAC is closely tied to Volkswagen, which holds a stake in its parent group and runs the Volkswagen Anhui joint venture in Hefei. The company was also Nio's contract manufacturer from 2018 until 2023, when Nio took over the plants. JAC is a major exporter of light commercial vehicles to emerging markets across Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
