Kyle Sen shared thisBreaking the Stigma Around Cerebral Palsy Cerebral Palsy (CP) affects movement and posture, but it doesn’t define who someone is. Unfortunately, society often views people with CP through a lens of misunderstanding. Many assume they are less capable, less intelligent, or unable to live fulfilling lives. These misconceptions create stigma, isolation, and barriers that have nothing to do with CP itself—but everything to do with lack of awareness. We need to change this narrative. Kyle Sen liked thisKyle Sen liked thisIt’s difficult to stay patient when the answers you hoped for still haven’t arrived. At times, the silence can make you wonder if God still remembers what you have been praying about. But God does not forget what He promised. What feels delayed to you may still be unfolding exactly the way it needs to, even if you cannot yet see it clearly. One day, you may look back and realize the waiting was not empty time. God was preparing things in ways that only made sense later.

Kyle Sen liked thisKyle Sen liked thisHave a Vision! Today’s Scripture: Where there is no vision, the people perish. - Proverbs 29:18 Today’s Word: Do you have a vision for your life, a God-sized dream and promises from God? It’s easy to have complaints about what didn’t work out or who hurt us. That wrong vision is going to limit your life. The Scripture says that if you’re lacking vision, you’ve reached your limits, you’re focused on what you can’t do and on how big the obstacles are. What would happen if you start writing a new vision? Write what God says about you. If you’re dealing with an illness, write the vision: “God says He is restoring health to me. I am healthy and whole. I am strong and energetic.” If you’re believing to pay your house off, write the vision: “God says I will lend and not borrow. What I touch prospers and succeeds. I am debt free. I am blessed so I can be a blessing.” Keep a new vision in front of you. That’s what you’re giving permission to come to pass. Who knows where God will take you if you will dare to write the vision. Today’s Prayer: “Father, thank You that I can begin to see myself the way You see me: as blessed, prosperous, healthy, strong, talented, and successful. Help me to get the negative images out and the fresh, new vision in. I believe that Your vision for me will become a reality. In Jesus’ Name, Yes & Amen!” 🙏🏽

Healthcare Today

Ontario’s newly introduced Primary Care Act, 2025 represents a transformative shift in how healthcare will be delivered across the province. By expanding access to team-based primary care and strengthening collaboration among professionals, this Act holds the potential to not only reduce strain on the system but also create a more integrated approach to patient well-being. At Healthcare Today, we view this development as a step in the right direction—one that highlights the importance of building and supporting a strong workforce in both healthcare and social services. A healthier Ontario relies not just on policy, but on the dedicated individuals who bring these policies to life every day: frontline care providers, support workers, and community professionals. As a staffing and recruiting partner, our role is to ensure organizations have the skilled, compassionate, and resilient teams they need to meet this vision. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities for growth, better outcomes, and stronger communities. 👉 What do you think this legislation means for the future of care in Ontario? 👉 Read more about the Primary Care Act, 2025 here: https://lnkd.in/gnhKJbxZ #HealthcareToday #OntarioHealth #HealthcareJobs #HealthcareReform #PrimaryCare #HealthcareRecruitment #WorkforceDevelopment #HealthcareStaffing #SocialServices

Our mission and values are the core of Unity Health and we’re always seeking new ways to demonstrate them in all areas of our organization. A new paper published in the Canadian Journal of Nursing Leadership demonstrates a creative way teams have gone about doing just that. Staff, physicians, and volunteers across our three sites participated in a new mission and values community of practice program. The program gave participants a chance to: 👥 Connect with new colleagues 📈 Learn about initiatives related to our mission and values 💬 Share examples about how they demonstrate mission and values in their work 🔍 Find new ways we can showcase our mission and values The program was a success and encouraged many participants to share this knowledge with their own teams. Care is most powerful when it comes to you. Over the past month, Circle of Care partnered with Ontario Health and Central Ontario Health atHome to bring RSV, COVID-19, and flu vaccinations directly to seniors in their own community settings — including our Adult Day Program and the Bernard Betel Centre. The result? 83 vulnerable seniors vaccinated, and overwhelming feedback about convenience, comfort, and care. This collaboration shows what’s possible when community partners work together to meet seniors where they are. Ontario Hospital Association

Advancing Indigenous health in hospitals requires more than isolated programs. It demands a fundamental shift in how care is defined, delivered, and experienced. In conversation with Paul Francis Jr., newly appointed Executive Director of Indigenous Health at the Ontario Hospital Association, he shares why patient and family experience is central to that change and how it shapes trust, access and outcomes for Indigenous Peoples. When it comes to Indigenous patient experience, Paul says, “A gold standard is not defined by the organization – it is defined by Indigenous patients and communities. It means patients feel safe being who they are, without having to explain or defend their identity. Cultural practices – ceremony, medicines, language, and the presence of family and Elders – are respected and supported as part of care.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eg-pxYAX #IndigenousHealth

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital

Proud to see the Ontario Hospital Association’s Health System News spotlighting the Extensive Needs Service (ENS) — a collaborative initiative between CHEO, Holland Bloorview, and Hamilton Health Sciences that has supported over 1,100 children with urgent and complex needs and their families each year. Kathryn Decker, senior director of ENS, psychopharmacology and inclusion programs reflects: “With provincial funding, we’re delivering the specialized, compassionate care that children and families truly need. Our multidisciplinary teams across our network are helping kids thrive – staying in school longer and rediscovering joy. Parents and caregivers are experiencing reduced stress and gaining the support they need to restore balance in their lives.” In addition to offering ENS in our newly renovated clinical space, we’ve expanded the program across the Greater Toronto Area through strategic partnerships with: • Grandview Kids (Durham Region) • Children's Treatment Network (CTN) (York Region) • Michael Garron Hospital (East Toronto) ENS clients also benefit from service coordination through Surrey Place, helping families manage appointments and navigate care. And thanks to our partnership with VHA Home HealthCare, support extends into the home — providing in-home care for children and youth. Together, we’re building a more responsive, inclusive system for some of Ontario’s most vulnerable children and their families: https://bit.ly/3JYIrjx

ICYMI: We recently shared a new article in Alberta Senior Living magazine featuring insights from our (Re)Engaged: Volunteerism From the Ground Up initiative with InWithForward. Written by VA’s Andrés Alvarez, the article offers an alternative view on how we might define volunteering. From helping a neighbour to pitching in on a short-term project to trying micro-volunteering, people are already showing up for their communities, often without even calling it volunteering. Volunteering doesn’t need to be formal to matter. Small, flexible acts of support can have a meaningful impact for others and for ourselves. By broadening how we see volunteering, we open the door for more people to take part and experience its benefits. 💜 🔗Read the article: https://lnkd.in/gnbDYbBJ 🔗Learn about our (Re)Engaged Initiative: https://lnkd.in/gejyUAVG

Reliability and Integrity: The Dual Engines of "Heroic" Care 🛡️🏛️ In the 2026 Ontario healthcare landscape, "home care" is more than just a service—it is a critical pillar of our province’s medical infrastructure. As the demand for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) continues to grow, the differentiator is no longer just availability; it is integrity and rigorous professional standards. At Angels My Way, we believe that providing "Heroic" protection of a senior's independence requires a workforce that is trained for excellence, not just compliance. Our Commitment to Workforce Excellence: Rigorous Training Frameworks: Our caregivers undergo specialized training that exceeds standard curriculum requirements, focusing on advanced mobility support, cognitive wellness, and "Dignity-First" care methodologies. Integrity as a Core Value: We select our team based on a dual-metric of clinical competence and radical empathy. Reliability isn't just about showing up; it’s about the quality of the presence provided. 👼 The "Heroic" Standard: We empower our staff to be proactive advocates for their clients. Whether it's identifying a subtle health change during a walk in Burlington or managing complex medication schedules in Hamilton, our team is trained to lead. Stability for Families: By employing the best in the GTA, we provide families with the one thing money can’t buy: the absolute certainty that their loved one is in safe, professional hands. We are proud to be the employer of choice for dedicated care professionals who view their work not as a job, but as a calling to protect the independence of Ontario’s seniors. 🕊️✨ Building a Better Care Future Together Are you a healthcare professional or community leader looking to partner with a team that values integrity as much as you do? Comfort Life

Has the senior living industry become too "transactional"? Pamela Starr, the principal of Say it to Seniors, dropped by our booth at #TogetherWeCare2026 Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) to share with us some of her thoughts in the video below. (Closed captions available) In a sector shaped by growing demand, it can be easy for the experience to become too transactional. More leads. More calls. More forms. More follow-up. Here are some of our thoughts after listening to her: Behind every inquiry is a family navigating one of the most emotional decisions of their lives. A daughter worried she's making the wrong choice. A husband trying to do right by his wife. A person wondering if they're ready to leave the home they've known for 40 years. That is something we see every day at Comfort Life. Families come to Comfort Life not just to find options, but to better understand them. They are looking for clarity, reassurance, and trustworthy information that helps them ask the right questions and move forward with more confidence. That is why thoughtful guidance matters. What Pamela shared with us is a good reminder that behind every search engine result and every click, is a person, a family.
