Qualcomm Mobile hardware Rumors

Qualcomm is expected to unveil its next-generation Snapdragon flagship mobile processors in September. Rumors suggest the lineup will include two SoCs, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Now, a tipster has shared new details about the upcoming chipsets.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the lineup will include the SM8950, believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the SM8975, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Both chipsets are said to be built on TSMC’s 2nm process and feature a 2+3+3 CPU architecture.

The SM8950 is tipped to come with an Adreno 845 GPU and 12MB of GMEM (Graphics Memory). It is also expected to support up to quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM, along with 6MB of last-level cache (LLC).

Meanwhile, the top-end SM8975 is said to feature a more powerful Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB GMEM, and support for either quad-channel 24-bit LPDDR6 or quad-channel 16-bit LPDDR5X RAM, paired with 8MB LLC.

The tipster also claims that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 SoC is in the works, although its specifications are said to be less impressive.
