Having been very happy with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro, I decided to upgrade to the Redmi Note 15 as I was running out of storage. All was going well with the transfer with the Xiaomi transfer app. There were two things that annoyed me, with one being a show stopper. Firstly the fingerprint reader moving to the front is not natural - much easier on the side as the thumb naturally sits there. Secondly there is no NFC chip and hence no contactless payments - this shocked me as I thought NFC is a given in all smart phones today. Be warned, I am not happy.

403, 17 Feb 2026Vivo and Oppo are now separate entities tho, at least since 2-3 years ago.Even if separate, I am just not going to risk it. Already did it once gambling on OnePlus and it did not turn out well. Xiaomi and Samsung I had experoce with and had no problem with either of them and are safe bets for me. Using this 15 5G for 2 weeks now and have no real issues with it, except maybe wishing there are more scenes mode with the camera and the AI photo editor is hardly anything to talk about.

403, 17 Feb 2026Vivo and Oppo are now separate entities tho, at least since 2-3 years ago.Can u unlock Bootloader on vivo Or oppo? I know u can unlock BL on OnePlus phones but it's not as EZ as rooting a xiaomi 👍

Idk whether it's Samsung that's too greedy in my country, or it's Xiaomi that's too kind, but A36 — even the used one — are far more expensive than this Note 15 5G in my country. Sure you got better software, but at the same time you also got worse bezel and no SD card slot.

Don't know what is the argument about Xiaomi vs Samsung all about. I got this after I got so fed up with a OnePlus I got only for 2 weeks. Before that, it was a Samsung A55 and before, a RM Note 11. Both Xiaomi and Samsung are a pleasure to use compared to the OnePlus crap.
