- the battery still holds 90%
- the phone has landed face down on concrete about 30 times (nothing)
- the glass on the back of this phone is shockingly thick, as is the build quality (the glass on the Galaxy S10 was as thick as a sheet of paper). The build quality of this phone is 3x better than 99% of Chinese phones
- the phone doesn't lag, runs very smoothly - it's never been reset
LMAO what a joke. Was she serious when she said that or she was trying not to laugh ?
If things are bad as it is, imagine how it would be if Xperia wasn't 'very important' to them lol
its time for this trash brand to go away, their quality is no better than motorola which is mediocre at best
Hikari, 08 Aug 2025what's wrong with it?In the vast majority of cases, spokespersons for Japanese companies have Japanese names. Maybe that was his thinking? Does anyone know (see GSM Arena) when sales of the Sony Xperia 1 VII will resume on the official European Sony websites (I heard September?)
Hikari, 08 Aug 2025what's wrong with it?We can't say she will sue us.
It's sad to see that once a legendary smartphone brand going through tough times. But all the legendary smartphone brands like LG, HTC, Sony, Nokia are not evolving with the market trends and cater the user needs. See Samsung (Disclaimer: I'm not a Samsung fanboy, infact I've never owned Samsung phone in my life), they continue to evolve, that is why they are able to sustain so long.

Luxshare (China) manufactures some iPhones, but non-China-made models are easy to source.
2)Google Pixel phones are made by Foxconn and Dixon Technologies.
3)Samsung's S and Z series are manufactured in its own factories, while the A series is partially handled by Wingtech.
4)Some HMD phones are manufactured by Wingtech. HMD also partners with other manufacturers, like Dixon Technologies and Zetwerk, to produce devices in India. Some devices are also made in Europe.
+)Lava smartphones are made in India, but they are ultra-budget models and are of questionable quality.
And yeah why you're dumping it?
They should try to bring features like hi res raw, auto electronic ND and foldable design.
If they bought those with optics they got now, there would be no reason to buy another brand.
If Xperia is important I don't want to see what are they doing unimportant things.
HomerName, 08 Aug 2025It is manufactured by the Chinese company Huaqin Technology, which is the same original design... moreNot exclusively Huaqin, but Sony's software packages specify "com.wingtech" for kernel-level applications. All other non-Chinese phones are also manufactured and designed by Wingtech, such as Samsung, Google and Apple. In Apple's case, they have engraved in Chinese-lettering for their components, and in app package names for other brands.
YUKI93, 08 Aug 2025Sony needs to start taking software support policy more seriously from now on, especially with... moreAnd if they want to gain more markets, they'd have to go for a competitive pricing strategy and maximize profits, but that would mean a lot of compromises in the long run.
It is manufactured by the Chinese company Huaqin Technology, which is the same original design manufacturer (ODM) used by Asus.
Your options for non-Chinese smartphones are limited to Apple, Pixel, Samsung, and HMD. Even Fairphones are made in China.
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2025Just copy Samsung, how is it so hard? And compromise on everything while overcharging, is that what you wish for?
Nothing new when you follow the brand a bit. They stated this a while ago. They also said that they are not going for big volume sales. You don't see Alpha cameras or Walkman on every street corner. That's what Sony does.
Their phones are really solid, especially since the Mk V and I'm looking forward to the Mk VIII. It's the only brand that really matters to me as the other ones are just some version of the same thing
Good, their phones are the only feature-complete flagships in existence anymore. Long may they live.
