Anyway... moreTesters on most phone review sites are new to photography knowledge. Like elementary school kids. Grow up, man. 99% of telephoto lenses available on the market are of the quality of toys from a newsstand (real telephoto lenses are e.g. Sony 400F2.8). No one in their right mind would constantly take photos of church steeples and clocks. However, filming with Xperia with slow motion with a telephoto lens gives amazing opportunities to capture INSECTS.
Don't try to be smart because there are people in this world who can only laugh at others trying to be experts in everything (but only on the Internet).

Anyway... moreYou can shot (from hand) parallax 120fps with full BT2020 on that telephoto lens in Xperia. But it is hard to understand, iq above 80 is recuired. It is suberb telephoto lens for close up video SLOW MOTION BT2020 shots (0.2m to 2m). You dont understand photo philosophy of that phone. Sorry dude. It is only device on the market that can do some things.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2025Never seen a Sony phone for many years , who actually buys them ?Nobody but blind fanboys. The only things that Xperia can offer are the brand name, microSD card slot and headphones jack. Last two can be found on many cheap budget smartphone these days. Unfortunately this is the latest Xperia phone - mediocre at best device with insane, unjustifiable price tag.

If you want to support Sony buy one of their cameras, even their budget small fixed lens cameras run circles around any top of the line overpriced phone. Paying over $700 for a phone camera is an oxymoron, because they always say because "they love photography" but then at the same time can't be bothered to take a dedicated photography device outside, do they actually love photography?

If two phones use the same flagship SoC, it doesn't mean that the performance will be the same. Phones with better cooling will have better performance. Gaming phones have better performance than normal phones that use the same SoCs because they have better cooling.

Oh man, i came back to Xperia with the VII because it's not made in Thailand anymore and the assembly in China supposedly has a better track record. Since so far every single one of my previous Xperia phones had to be repaired under warranty at least once. My last 5V failed after a bit over an hour after unboxing. So far my VII is holding up but good to know that I might have bought a dud, AGAIN.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2025No. The charging speed is slow. The performance is mediocre. The telephoto camera is mediocre.... more1. How tf the performance is "mediocre" if it uses the same 8 Elite like on the other flagships?
2. 4 OS updates is fine imo if most people only use their flagship for up to 3-4 years. I hate how "some" brands brag 5-7 OS updates like it's an important thing in a world where majority of people didn't hold their phone for that long. Not to mention that unlike iOS, you can use 6 years old Android version just fine rn in 2025. Imo, security patch is more important than OS updates.
