Microsoft is a third-party publisher with its own consoles, so it supports Sony, Nintendo, and PC. As for the price, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally will probably be about $1,000 or higher.

To my understanding the cloud is optional, meanwhile we can run natively, but with some limitations (resolution, graph quality, fake frames,...).

He travels every weekend to his hometown and it takes 6+ hours or so. He plays with a steam deck plugged to a 65w powerbank. It's not a problem since he's sitting on the bus all the time.
This is no different from using Switch or smartphones while plugged in with a power ank inside the bag.
Same with laptops that are NOT USED FOR GAMING using only their battery. So what if it needs to plug in when the laptop buyer doesn't want to lug around a desktop lol,

These things are just unnecessary hardware when they're incapable of native gaming.

Ahahah they know how snapdragon 8 elite mobile version beats all of them even after the crippling emulator. Which cuts maybe %30 performance to winlator but still manages to outperform windows based handhelds.

Since this is Asus I'm guessing it will cost $999 for Ally X.

The OS is Windows Xbox edition.
This is not even a full blown windows. They've literally chopped of windows so that it uses 2GB RAM at idle instead of the usual 4GB.
And their goal is to trim the idle RAM usage to 1.5GB before release. That's trimming a lot of Windows processes which will increase boot time and gaming performance and battery life significantly.
This one can't even run normal Windows while in handheld mode.

Primary TV mode is about 18%, primary tabletop/handheld mode is about 30%, and hybrid is about 50%.

People wants more AA or AAA games in portable. In fact, the handheld have active cooling as if in laptop despite still not enough especially in warm ambiance.
In fact, very few or almost none phones are actually gaming gear.
On the other hands, I agree that's except for gaming PC (or perhaps consoles), it will be burden for portable devices to execute heavy games and will shorthen their lifespan rapidly.
