Summarize This Article:

The Pixel 11 series is set to be unveiled on August 12, and true to tradition, leaks have already painted a detailed picture of what to expect. Notably, the Pixel 11 Pro models are anticipated to feature an RGB LED notification light integrated into the Pixel Camera Bar. The feature was rumored to be called Pixel Glow; however, the latest leak reveals the official branding name.

Reliable tipster Evan Blass has shared several marketing images of the Pixel 11 Pro, with the latest materials referencing the glowing camera light feature. Rather than “Pixel Glow” as previously rumored, the marketing materials officially refer to the feature as HiLight.

The marketing material reveals the functionality of the HiLight feature. It will illuminate when the Pixel 11 Pro series is placed face down, alerting users to calls from specific contacts or indicating that Gemini is in use. We still don’t know whether it’s the full extent of HiLight’s use case or is limited to these two functionalities only.

Folks over at 9to5Google share APK Insight of the latest Contacts app and claim to have uncovered code related to one of HiLight’s key functionalities. According to the discovered code strings, the Google Contacts app will allow users to assign a personalized HiLight color to individual contacts, with nine options to choose from, including Blue, Cyan, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Teal, White, and Yellow.

Google has confirmed that it will start taking pre-orders for the Pixel 11 series on August 12. The tech giant has also offered some discounts and coupons to those who register before August 7 at 11:59 PM PT. The special promo code can be used by August 27 at 11:59 PM PT.
