Realme launches ColorOS 17 Early Access for Realme 16 Pro

Summarize This Article:

Oppo’s spin-off Realme kicked off ColorOS 17 testing early this month with open beta access for the Realme GT 7 and GT 8 series. Now, the company has brought the Android 17-based skin to the Realme 16 Pro 5G through an early access program, which is essentially a closed beta limited to select users. If you’re in a haste, you can try out the new features by participating the early access program.

Realme Community team has shared the details in a new post. According to the post, users can take part in the early access program starting October 26, but spots are limited, so apply early. To join, your phone must be running either RMX5120_16.0.5.1102 or RMX5120_16.0.5.1106 (EX01). You will then receive the new build, RMX5120_17.0.0.100 (EX01).

Realme says the build is not intended for phones with unlocked bootloader. Just like previous beta releases, the ColorOS 17 early access builds are less stable and reliable, so we don’t recommend installing them on your primary device. If you want to test the new features, you can join the beta program.

Moving to the features, ColorOS 17 update brings an all-new Trinity Engine, a brand-new Light Form Glass design which is likely to be inspired by iOS 26, a fresh set of customization features, Next AI, and an overall smoother experience across the device.

If you want to participate in open beta program, you need to check if your phone is running on the above-mentioned builds and then apply for beta by navigating to Settings > About Device > Tap Up to date > Tap icon at top right corner > Select Beta Program and follow on-screen instructions.

If your application got approved, you can navigate to Settings > About Device > tap Download Now.
