Last week, we were delighted to host the closing event of our UK-funded #Maldives Security and Justice Project. Established in response to the Maldivian Government’s commitment to modernise and strengthen its #security and #justice institutions, the programme has delivered meaningful impact that will continue to support institutions and benefit communities across the Maldives. We delivered 60 training programmes across the police, prison and wider justice sector, reaching more than 1,600 participants over the three years of our work. These efforts have strengthened skills, advanced institutional coordination and supported more effective collaboration across the criminal justice system. Thank you to the multiple Maldivian institutions we worked with throughout the programme, and to the British High Commission in Malé for their guidance and support at every stage of the project. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the team of consultants whose expertise, dedication and contributions made these results possible. We’re pleased to share the video below, where High Commissioner Nick Low reflects on key achievements and lessons from the past three years of the project. We are proud to announce that Tetra Tech’s #EU research and evaluation team was selected as the lead partner by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) to conduct the #ImpactAssessment on the Consumer Protection Cooperation Regulation. Last Friday, 27 March 2026, we kicked off this five-month project with our partners Ipsos and Syntesia - Policy & Economics. In addition to delivering a comprehensive impact assessment, we will integrate the latest Better Regulation priorities, placing particular emphasis on competitiveness, simplification and impacts on small and medium-sized enterprises (#SMEs), to help strengthen the effectiveness of EU consumer protection enforcement. We look forward to collaborating closely with DG JUST, EISMEA and our partners throughout this important review. We are equally keen to engage with stakeholders across the #ConsumerProtection landscape to gather practical insights that will help shape forward-looking recommendations for the future of the CPC framework. For the past three years, the UK-funded #Maldives Security and Justice Project delivered sustained support to the Government of the Maldives to strengthen the #security and #justice sector and enhance public trust. By working across three core components – the police, the prison service and the justice – our team contributed to increased harmonisation within the sector, strengthened accountability, introduced modern policing approaches and supported reforms. As the project reaches its close, we highlight the sustainable changes enabled by our demand-driven support that will better meet the needs of all Maldivians. A Tetra Tech team had the honour of being invited to discuss their work at Windsor Castle this week, at an event hosted by King Charles III as part of the state visit of the President of #Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, to the UK. Our invitation to the event, which had an interfaith dialogue focus, was in recognition of our work on the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office-funded Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) programme, which seeks to reduce violence, strengthen local resilience, and work with religious leaders to promote positive messages of peace across North-West and North-Central Nigeria. Attending for Tetra Tech were David Joiner, MD of Tetra Tech International Development Europe, Christina Hildrew SPRiNG Programme Director, Priscilla Ankut, the Deputy Team Leader of SPRiNG, and Nicholas Coleman Tetra Tech Programme Director for the #UKNIAF and Nigeria Economic Stability & Transformation (NEST) Advisory Facility programmes. Our team had the opportunity to share the work of the programme directly with the King and the President and answer their questions. David commented: “The SPRiNG programme is an excellent example of the partnership between the UK government and Government of Nigeria on security. SPRiNG aims to reduce immediate conflict drivers such as competition over land and resources, working with young people and religious leaders across faiths to build community cohesion and find commonalities that unite rather than divide people. "It was an honour for our work to be recognised with an invitation like this and we’re very proud of our team and the continued ongoing successes of the programme.” UK in Nigeria Tetra Tech https://lnkd.in/eZHrWpWk

Our FCDO-funded Libya Technical Assistance Facility recently had the honour to convene two focused Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) sessions in Tripoli, in partnership with the Libyan Businessmen Council (LBC). The gatherings brought together state institutions – including representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and the National Economic Development Board – alongside business support associations and private sector stakeholders to chart practical steps for inclusive economic reform and growth. The discussions set out clear, actionable priorities on topics including economic diversification, private sector opportunities and challenges, and leveraging technology to mitigate economic crisis. Our team supported the LBC in facilitating structured dialogues to strengthen trust and cooperation between public institutions and representative private sector bodies. These PPDs are a foundation for institutionalised, inclusive engagement that will inform policy reform, improve regulatory alignment and enhance Libya’s economic resilience. We thank all participants for their contributions and commitment to constructive collaboration. We look forward to continuing our work with our valuable partners in Libya and turning dialogue into concrete reforms that support improved economic governance. The Libya Technical Assistance Facility is delivered under the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s UK Integrated Security Fund.

Strong regulatory frameworks attract energy investment. Predictable rules reduce uncertainty around tariffs, permitting, and dispute resolution, key considerations when committing capital to infrastructure designed to operate for decades. Uzbekistan is a case in point. The government implemented power sector reforms and privatization initiatives, including public-private partnerships, to attract investment. Financial institutions are building on the momentum. Organizations such as the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation play an integral role in reducing early project risk and encouraging broader participation from commercial lenders and private developers. The lesson extends beyond Uzbekistan: clear rules and credible financial institutions drive energy infrastructure development. Drawing on its global energy experience, regional networks, and understanding of local markets, Tetra Tech is well positioned to translate regulatory reforms into bankable projects in Central Asia and other emerging energy markets. See our earlier post on Uzbekistan’s regulatory reforms in the comments. #EnergyInAction #Uzbekistan #CentralAsia #PowerMarkets #RegulatoryReform #Utilities #DevelopmentFinance #CAWEP Nikos Tourlis | Armen Arzumanyan Asian Development Bank (ADB) | The World Bank | EBRD | European Union | Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
