  • STEM talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t.   Today, fewer than 10% of graduates from underserved high schools complete STEM degrees within six years, even as STEM jobs continue to grow at a rapid pace.   Next week at SXSW EDU, our very own ExxonMobil Foundation President Alvin Abraham will be joining several of our long-time education partners, including the University of Houston College of Education, Khan Academy and KIPP Texas Public Schools, to talk about how our collaboration can help close that gap and strengthen pathways from classroom to career.   If you’ll be in Austin on March 11, we’d love to see you there! 🔗 Session details: https://lnkd.in/gnKtEkYE

  • Yesterday in Guyana, ExxonMobil leaders joined President Irfaan Ali to mark the beginning of a major commitment to STEM education. We announced the Guyana STEM Initiative (GSI) — a $100 million, 10‑year ExxonMobil investment, delivered through the ExxonMobil Foundation, that will strengthen the STEM talent pipeline across the country. Through GSI, we will: 🔹 Expand hands-on, engaging STEM programs for students 🔹 Provide training and support for math and science teachers 🔹 Strengthen STEM college and career pathways 🔹 Establish the country’s first STEM Center in 2029 We’re building on the early results of the Foundation’s key STEM initiatives in Texas aimed at unlocking opportunities for talented students who lack access. We’re working hand-in-hand with the Government of Guyana by bringing our know-how and passion for STEM education to support Guyana’s continued growth and prosperous future. • The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is doing incredible work and it’s an honor to support female entrepreneurs like Bosede Laide Akindele as they create lasting impact in their communities. The ExxonMobil Foundation’s investment has helped to scale the Road to Growth program in Nigeria and Guyana. In Bosede’s home country of Nigeria alone, over 22,500 participants have completed the program—75% of these women increased savings and 51% boosted their business revenues. Across both countries, the initiative drives financial inclusion, business growth and socio-economic development.

🍽️ Bosede Laide Akindele grew up cooking with her mother and developed a passion for feeding to people. Her love of food and desire to financially support herself led to the creation of her event catering company, Deluxefoodie. The business provides more than just food, it also provides jobs and training opportunities to people in Bosede’s community, while boosting the local economy. Here, she shares her entrepreneurial journey and reflects on how our Road to Growth programme with ExxonMobil Giving and FATE Foundation supported her success: https://lnkd.in/eHbmDKUD #WomenEntrepreneurs #WomenEconomicEmpowerment #EconomicJustice #WomenInBusiness #FemaleFounder #Entrepreneurship

  • As the 2025 Conference of National Black Churches (CNBC)/Institute of Church Administration and Management-ICAM Consultation wraps up, we celebrate a week of meaningful exchange and dialogue. ExxonMobil was thrilled to sponsor this year’s event and connect with faith leaders from across the United States. We were also able to share how we’re working to solve the “and” equation – providing the energy that makes modern living possible while reducing emissions. In her keynote, Integrated Operations Manager Regina Davis emphasized how we prioritize safety and care for our communities wherever we operate: “ExxonMobil is one of the world’s largest energy providers and chemical manufacturers. But more importantly, we are neighbors. Our employees live, worship and serve in the same communities where we gather today. We are committed to being responsible operators, good listeners and active partners in building a more equitable future.” Our work with #CNBC reflects this commitment through initiatives including: 💜 STEM camps hosted at CNBC churches across ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, ExxonMobil Baytown Area and ExxonMobil Beaumont: https://lnkd.in/g7xA8Bn9 💜 Energy Fundamentals Training for pastors across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi We’re proud to work with organizations like CNBC to deliver impactful programs that make a difference in our communities. This year’s $100,000 gift was awarded to BEAR...BE A Resource for CPS Kids! Last week, ExxonMobil Chairman and CEO Darren Woods and his wife, Kathy, joined BEAR leadership and staff and ExxonMobil volunteers to celebrate the organization’s transformative work for children experiencing abuse, neglect or the sudden removal from their homes.
