As 'Hari Raya Aidilfitri' reminds us of faith, gratitude and togetherness, it also brings new beginnings. For Mohamad Aiman bin Mohamed Mustaffa, a PETRONAS scholar currently pursuing chemical engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, 'Raya' is a celebration of tradition and family, from 'solat sunat' and heartfelt apologies, to 'ketupat' and 'rendang' with relatives. But beyond the celebration, his journey reflects something more: the power of opportunity. Aiman was awarded the PETRONAS Education Sponsorship in 2021. Since then, he has grown through leadership development, financial support, and even interned with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team in the UK, an experience that changed his life. "I want my story to show that no matter where you start, with the right support and mindset, you can achieve meaningful things,” he said. Now, it is your turn. We stand with the community affected by the recent gas pipeline fire near Putra Heights in Subang Jaya. Since the incident, our subsidiary PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) has been on-site, working closely with frontliners to support those impacted by mobilising emergency response teams and volunteers from among our employees to assist with food distribution, medical aid and essential supplies. Other members of our PETRONAS family, including PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad and Yayasan PETRONAS, also came together to extend their support for the displaced families by contributing care packs and basic supplies. We continue to engage with Federal and State authorities to explore longer-term assistance, including temporary housing and community support. At the same time, we are extending our full cooperation to the relevant agencies overseeing the review of the incident. Yet, many students still find it challenging to connect what they learn in classrooms with real-world applications, making mastery of STEM more difficult. Learnado, a social venture by SEEd.Lab, an initiative by PETRONAS and Tata Consultancy Services is helping to bridge this gap. Spreading Love and Joy This Aidilfitri This Ramadan and Aidilfitri, we are grateful for the opportunity to bring light and happiness to 550 beneficiaries across southern Malaysia through Yayasan PETRONAS Uplifting Lives : Aidilfitri 2025. To spread festive cheer into their homes, we distributed essential festive food items such as rice, cooking oil and rendang paste, along with festive cookies made by MEKAR participants. In collaboration with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), we are embracing the spirit of togetherness, reaching out to underprivileged families, senior citizens and welfare homes in Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. This is a time to cherish moments with our loved ones and we are truly honoured to share the festive joy with those who need it most.
