  • What can your AI coding agent actually do with the Agent Toolkit for AWS? 🤔 It builds and deploys infrastructure, stays current on AWS knowledge it was never trained on, follows tested procedures instead of improvising, and works with whatever agent you already use. 🤝 Here's how the four pieces fit together: The AWS MCP Server is the managed endpoint your agent connects to over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Agents can execute commands, search docs, and follow curated skills through a single authenticated endpoint with CloudWatch metrics and IAM-based access controls. Skills are curated packages of instructions, code scripts, and reference materials that help agents complete specific tasks on AWS. They are loaded on demand, and agents discover and retrieve only the skills relevant to the current task, keeping context window usage low. Plugins bundle the AWS MCP Server config and a curated set of agent skills. Available for Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, or any other MCP compatible agent. Rules Files live in your repo and tell the agent how to use AWS in your project, applied to every session. The toolkit is free; you only pay for whatever AWS resources your agent creates. • "I'd love to go, but I'm not sure I'm ready." If that's the thought stopping you. But here's the truth... you're already ready. AWS Community Days aren't just for experts. They're especially for people curious and eager to learn and looking to connect with other builders. The people on stage are engineers from your local AWS User Group talking through real projects, including the parts that went wrong and what they'd do differently now. The person beside you might be shipping their first function while the person on your other side is untangling a migration that's kept them up for weeks. Here's some upcoming AWS Community Days happening this October: → Oct 2: Washington D.C. → Oct 14: Miami → Oct 17: Mumbai · Santiago → Oct 23: Charleston → Oct 24: New Jersey → and many more! Look up your local AWS User Group and get involved. Don't have one in your city? This is your chance to be the one who starts something. Because at the end of the day, AWS Community Days exist because builders like you decided it was time to connect, share and build together.

  • The work you're proudest of probably lives in a few different places right now. A repo here, a project doc there, or something you shipped that people outside your team never saw. Wouldn't it be great to have one link ready to send? 💡 Your Builder Center profile is that link! It's one place that holds your best work, so when a recruiter or hiring manager wants to see what you can do, you can send it and let your work speak for itself. A few things that turn a developer's portfolio into one worth sending: → Write about something you solved. The problem, how you approached it, and how you solved it. That post can help the next person working through the same thing, and it shows a hiring manager how you think. → Post at a consistent pace you can keep up with. One strong post a week will build your track record and body of work over time. → Put the link in the right places. Your resume header, the portfolio field on applications, and yes, your LinkedIn (😉). We broke down how to use Builder Center to build a portfolio that shows your best work and helps you land your next role. ⬇️

Byte-sized tech tips for AI + AWS

Your agent has a context budget, so it's important to make every single token count. A brand new launch will help with this! Building an agent means more than calling a model. You've got to decide what stays in context, what moves to files, when to cache reused prompt pieces, when to compact, and how to recover from overflow. Strands harness gives you those defaults in a fully assembled general purpose harness. You can start with one line of python or typscript, run locally or deply to your provider, and then customise the pieces that need to change. It also includes shell, file, and web tools, long term memory, a helper agent, and a checklist for multi step work. Plus - across 6 bechmarks, Strands harness used 28% fewer tokens (!!!) with nearly equal scores. Everything you need to get started (including a better look at the chart I put in this video - it was hard to fit in the frame) is in the blog: https://lnkd.in/gCnWpZ7U 👩🏻💻 Follow me ( Brooke Jamieson) for the latest AI + AWS updates 📍 Save + Share 🏷️ AWS Developers 🐈 This is a clear and conspicuous disclaimer that I am an AWS employee and all opinions are my own 🐈

  • The Zero to Shipped hackathon is LIVE. Connect your AI coding agent to AWS, build an app, and ship it live for a chance to win $5,000 in AWS credits and an AWS Builder swag bundle. 🙌 Over the next two weeks, you'll connect your coding agent to the AWS console, build an original app that solves a problem worth solving, and deploy it live on AWS where anyone can use it. To be eligible, your app has to be running at a public URL. Pick one of five app categories: • Workplace Efficiency • Daily Life Enhancement • Commercial Potential • Social Good • Personal Expression Then pick your lane, Community or Startup. The category is what you build, the lane is who it's for. Five winners each walk away with $5,000 in AWS credits, an AWS Builder swag bundle, and a winner's certificate and badge. 🏅💰🎒 Open to builders 18 and up with a Builder Center profile. Registration closes October 2, 2026. Register now with the link in the comments.
