This morning, I was having a chat with my friend about the impact of AI today and whether it will replace instructional designers. Well, we came to a conclusion that AI will not replace IDs rather It’s forcing us to clarify where our real value lies. Tools and AI can accelerate execution. They cannot replace judgment, performance diagnosis, or learning strategy. The role of instructional designers is shifting—from content builders to learning architects. As an L&D professional, I’ve found that true connection stems from a sincere interest in people, which is something a chatbot simply cannot simulate or replicate.
