When we speak about continuous learning, we usually focus on necessary work skills content. But very rarely do we explain to learners how memory actually works. This video continues my small series on Continuous Learning and my exploration of how generative AI can be used to visualize learning science in a simple, accessible way. While producing it, I kept thinking about corporate LMS environments. We still see demands from students like “Learn English in a month” or “Master a new skill in 30 days.” Yet the forgetting curve has been known for more than a century. In my opinion, this material should be part of every corporate LMS. Very often students struggle not because they lack motivation, but because they were never taught how memory functions. Over the past weeks, I have also received personal messages asking about the production process and AI tools behind these videos. I will write a separate post about the workflow and design choices. Putting the "Human" Back in Digital Learning: Why EQ is the Real MVP In the rush to automate everything with AI, we often overlook the most critical component of a successful learning strategy: Emotional Intelligence (EQ). As L&D leaders and Instructional Designers, we aren’t just moving information from point A to point B. We are architects of change. If a learner feels overwhelmed, uninspired, or disconnected, even the most advanced AI-driven course will fail to land. The ID-EQ Connection Applying EQ to Instructional Design means: Empathy Mapping: Moving beyond "learning objectives" to understand the learner's daily pressures and barriers. Social Awareness: Designing collaborative spaces that foster psychological safety. Self-Regulation: Balancing the cognitive load so we don't burn out our teams with "content dumps." The Shift: To improve the current learning scenario, we must stop designing for compliance and start designing for connection. Let’s use AI to handle the data, so we can focus on the humanity.
