Jon Toews reposted thisJon Toews reposted thisWe're hiring a Shop Manager at A3D Manufacturing in Phoenix! I'm looking for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, solving problems, and driving execution. You don't need an additive manufacturing background. I'm especially interested in people coming from production leadership, aerospace, CNC/machining, automation, or other advanced manufacturing environments who are excited about learning a rapidly growing technology. This person will have real ownership of our day-to-day manufacturing operation—leading the team, managing priorities and capacity, improving equipment utilization, driving on-time delivery, and helping us continue to scale and automate the shop. If you're a strong Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similar leader looking for an opportunity to take on broader ownership, I'd love to talk. 📍 Phoenix, AZ Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gSCjgcZF Or feel free to reach out to me directly. #Manufacturing #Hiring #PhoenixJobs #Operations #AdvancedManufacturing #AdditiveManufacturing

Jon Toews shared thisWe’re about to print part #1,000,000 at A3D Manufacturing. That is a number worth pausing for. Every part represents a customer challenge, a design decision, a production requirement, a material choice, a quality check, and a team of people working together to get it right. This milestone is not just about machine output. It reflects years of trust from our customers, support from our partners, and execution from the A3D team across engineering, production, quality, customer success, sales, operations, and leadership. Now we want to celebrate it with the community that helped make it possible. If you are in the Phoenix, Arizona area, we would love to have you stop by, join the team, and be there as we print part #1,000,000. Jon Toews shared thisHawk Ridge Systems has spent decades helping engineering teams design better products. At A3D Manufacturing, we spend our time helping teams figure out how to actually make, validate, and scale those products. That handoff from design to manufacturing is where many companies lose time, margin, and momentum. A great CAD model does not automatically become a production-ready part. Material selection, process fit, tolerances, supplier strategy, quality requirements, and production volume all need to be considered earlier than many teams realize. That is the focus of the upcoming Hawk Ridge Systems Design. Validate. Scale. fireside chat series. I’ll be joining the series alongside members of our A3D team and Hawk Ridge Systems to share a practical manufacturing perspective on what happens after design and how teams can plan better before they scale. The series will cover: · Designing with manufacturability in mind · Choosing the right manufacturing path · Validating before moving into production · Preparing for tooling, production, and supplier alignment · Scaling with confidence around cost, lead time, quality, and volume The sessions are intentionally short and practical: 20 minutes each, monthly from July through November, with live Q&A and on-demand recordings available. For Hawk Ridge Systems customers and any engineering or product team trying to move from design intent to production reality, I’d encourage you to join us. Jon Toews shared thisThe best engineers I've worked with have always been builders first. I was reading about a guy who spent years building a life-size WALL-E robot. Not for a client. Not for a paycheck. Just because he wanted to see if he could pull it off. When a part kept failing, he didn't quit. He redesigned it. Changed the print orientation. Raised the temps. When that still wasn't clean, he changed the process entirely: different material, different method, one solid part where three used to be. That fixed it. I've watched that same sequence play out in aerospace programs, medical device development, and production floor troubleshooting. The category changes. The discipline doesn't. The engineers who get there fastest are usually the ones most willing to throw out their first answer. When the printing press arrived in 15th-century Europe, it allowed knowledge to move faster than the systems built to control it. In his latest article for the Forbes Technology Council, Mukhtar Ahmad Baig, CEO of CodeNinja, draws a striking parallel between Gutenberg's printing press - the first machine built to democratize knowledge at scale and the AI systems now unleashing intelligence at a speed and magnitude we've never seen before. He moves past the conversation on adoption to examine what AI exposes i.e. the hidden friction in how organizations actually think and decide and the reasons why, even when we have the right information, it often arrives too late to matter. We’re incredibly grateful to have presented at Onshape by PTC’s most recent all-hands meeting, where our CEO (Saad Rajan) demonstrated to an audience of 200+ key stakeholders how Naya and Onshape can transform and automate product workflows together. Thank you Jon Hirschtick, Christian Blanc, Michael LaFleche, and Paul Chastell, for inviting us! Here are three takeaways from the presentation: 1. 3D design is an integral part of the design process but only represents 30% of assets created. There are still brainstorms, sketches, 2D drawings, presentations, demo videos and so much more. By combining Onshape and Naya, both browser based platforms, teams can create a true, living, end-to-end system of record for their work. 2. Teams and their collaborators can easily comment on any type of asset, from videos and images, to PDFs, and 3D files. They can create, link, and comment on their Onshape files directly within Naya’s platform and build custom views for fabricators, clients, and other stakeholders. Having feedback in one place allows teams to tell better stories and make everyone feel more connected to the journey. 3. With a centralized workflow and data set including Onshape assets, Naya’s AI tools help automate many parts of the design journey. Naya’s ‘front end’ tools allow users to create 2D drawings, 3D concepts, presentations, and more, giving teams the ability to rapidly generate multiple options and explore divergent directions. While, Naya’s ‘back end’ tools allow teams to generate estimates, DFM analysis, and options for value engineering, enabling more products to make it to the finish line. Discover the benefits of using Onshape and Naya together by creating an account on Naya today.

Slashing Redundancy at Scale: PTC Debuts Windchill AI for Smarter Part Management JOHN HALLER, Windchill GM, on the New Parts Rationalization: ”AI as a practical tool rather than just another buzzword.” A central point in PTC’s new PLM vision—following former CEO Jim Heppelmann’s broad holistic goals—is formulated in the "Intelligent Product Lifecycle" concept. Within this vision, AI is a key element. The idea is to unite product data with embedded AI to break down silos between engineering, manufacturing, and service. The aim is to create a coherent digital thread that makes data accessible and actionable throughout the product’s life cycle. This includes AI in workflows, a strong database foundation, an advanced digital thread, and collaboration across domains. The vision also aims to connect mechanics, electronics, and software in an integrated environment (Integrated Product Engineering, IPE), which was recently showcased together alongside Lamborghini at CES 2026, demonstrating how to shorten development times and increase quality throughout the entire lifecycle. Based on the vision of the intelligent product lifecycle and concepts such as integrated engineering (IPE), PTC CEO Neil Barua and his team envision reaping benefits such as: * Faster time to market: Reduced development cycles from years to months. * Sustainability: Integrated sustainability choices already in the design phase, where 80% of a product's environmental impact is determined. * Reduced costs: Eliminated duplication of effort and optimized resource use. The company now aims to deliver these gains with its latest innovation, launched this week: Windchill AI Parts Rationalization, a new AI capability built into its leading PLM platform, Windchill. This new capability brings AI directly into parts management workflows, helping manufacturers address long-standing challenges such as duplicate parts, slow or incorrect part lookups, and inconsistent part data—issues that contribute to higher costs and slower development cycles. “Getting the right part data is fundamental to modern product development, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to maintain as product lines grow, systems multiply, and organizational complexity increases,” said John Haller, GM of Windchill, PTC. “We designed the AI Parts Rationalization capability to help our customers reduce that complexity, so they can spend less time managing duplicate parts and cleaning up data, and more time focused on building better products.” A fundamental idea in all of this is that AI is only as good as the data it has access to. By centralizing product data in a unified base (SaaS), companies can scale their AI transformation without having to rebuild their infrastructure. Among Nordic companies that can take advantage of this are, for example, Volvo Group, which works with PTC solutions as its basic software arsenal in product development.
