Scott Weller reposted thisScott Weller reposted thisI'm your TechParazzi, I'm all over the place meeting builders especially when I'm representing MGMT Boston. This time I met with two 617 fintech builders. Sasha Yablonovsky is building Loanspark and Scott Weller and I talked about how EnFi, Inc solution is being incorporated into banks and financial institutions. Watch this video and share it with other fintech enthusiasts. Matt Crane and I are curious to know, who are your favorite fintech builders in Massachusetts? Scott Weller shared thisWhen you were thinking through building your own internal AI solutions, or selecting vendors working in the domain, you must consider developing a tradecraft and the deep continual investment within the key areas Joshua Summers mentions through this article.Scott Weller shared thisPutting ChatGPT on every desktop is not an AI strategy. A real strategy starts with a framework of structured data and context. Then, if you’re putting AI anywhere near a credit decision, 3 things are non-negotiable: 1️⃣ Provenance: You can trace every data point back to the document, the page, and time it came from 2️⃣ Explainability: The system doesn’t just hand you an answer. It shows how it arrived at that decision 3️⃣ Auditability: Every action (human or AI) is recorded and reversible Our own Joshua Summers explores why context, not model accuracy, is the biggest challenge facing AI in banking in his first article for Finance Derivative and advises on what banks should be focusing on as adoption accelerates. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eqZKTp4tAccuracy isn't bankers' biggest AI problem. Missing context is. - Finance DerivativeAccuracy isn't bankers' biggest AI problem. Scott Weller shared thisWhat is an agent??Scott Weller shared thisEveryone's talking about AI agents. However, what is the definition of an AI agent? You'll get different answers from different people. So I did what your TechParazzi does? Hit the streets on behalf of MGMT Boston and went straight to the people actually deploying this stuff. In this episode, Boston tech execs break down about AI agent and deployment across companies: 🦞 Scott Weller, CTO & Co-Founder, EnFi, Inc 🦞 Paul Baier CEO & Co-Founder, GAI Insights 🦞 Jason Luce, CTO, Paperless Parts Before you deploy agents, you need to define them. Start here. What's your definition of an AI agent? Drop it below. Matt Crane and I don't gatekeep. #aiagent #aiagents #aistrategy

Scott Weller reposted thisScott Weller reposted thisInspired by birds that can both fly and swim -- like loons, gulls, puffins, and petrels -- engineers at EPFL and the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE) have designed a robot that can swim underwater, and flap out of the water to continue flying through air. The work, now featured on the cover of Science, can help scientists understand how diving birds adapt their flight mechanics to move through air and water, which have very different physical properties. The design could also launch a new class of aerial-aquatic drones and vehicles. Read more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eyTzqUPn Raphael Zufferey | Simon Jeger | Moritz Hüsser | Fernando Ruiz Vincueria; Auke J. Scott Weller shared thisRecently our co-founder Joshua Summers spoke to FinAi News about a critical aspect of running agents in the enterprise - the "kill switch". While that might sound drastic, it's a critical aspect of the modern state of agentic development. Read more in the link below.Scott Weller shared thisOur very own Joshua Summers recently joined FinAi News for an interview on agentic guardrails. His take? The "kill switch" is one of the most important (but overlooked) aspects of enterprise AI. Every agent should be able to: → Pause or terminate unsafe behavior in real time → Escalate high-risk decisions to a human → Enforce policies before actions are taken → Maintain a complete audit trail for compliance Especially in regulated industries like financial services, you should only deploy AI you can govern, control, and trust. https://lnkd.in/gzVr7A3p‘Kill switch’ engaged: Fintechs spotlight key agentic guardrail‘Kill switch’ engaged: Fintechs spotlight key agentic guardrail

Scott Weller reposted thisScott Weller reposted thisI asked this AI question of two of my most trusted CTO friends Scott Weller and Jason Luce yesterday. I asked them how they are managing "AI Mandates" across their engineering orgs. And unsurprisingly they had similar answers... It was about setting a "floor" for development teams and that floor isn't about Hours, Shipping More or Tokens. It was that the minimum needs to be: deep curiosity, actual usage and experimentation without over rotating one way or another. They want engineers with a plasticity mindset and no POVs without evidence. Coincidentally Shri Bhupathi the CEO of the AI SW Dev firm MILL5 also said something similar to me recently. This really is extensible to all teams in all companies IMO. Agree?

Scott Weller shared thisI am a huge fan of how AI coding has opened up an opportunity for everyone across a business to explore software development and turn ideas into their own personal reality. But, what we are seeing in practice, is that vibe coded apps are easy to generate but very, very expensive to own in practice. In highly regulated industries like banking, there is a significant amount of thought, architecture and continual improvement that needs to go into making sure your app functions in alignment with your regulatory obligations. Oh, and it needs to function beyond the happy path use cases too. What are you seeing?

So grateful to have shared an environment with so many awesome talented people like John Pignato and Casey May who I learned so much from. I’m proud to have contributed my part to the awesome things CYVL is doing by architecting and developing the company data lakehouse, while also getting the opportunity to develop several agentic AI projects. CYVL is so ahead of the curve with modern software engineering, so I’m really excited to make the most out of this experience and insight for whatever comes next. Thank you to everyone at CYVL!!! 💚

Scott Weller reacted on thisScott Weller reacted on thisHappy to share the news that a paper I submitted to this year’s ACM Collective Intelligence Conference got rejected. The paper asks a question I think every organization is quietly dealing with: given a fixed budget, what's the right split between hiring more people and buying AI token capacity? Token spend is volatile and heavy-tailed, and AI output still needs humans to review it. The answer is therefore not obvious. The good news: The underlying model held up. The theoretical foundation was solid, which was the part I was most anxious about. The bad news, but the useful part: I failed to make the case for my model’s practical relevance. Every numerical result ran on illustrative parameters, and the reviewers correctly pointed out that a model demonstrating its own assumptions isn't evidence about real organizations. I also buried the model's key takeaways in the structure. So the rejection didn't kill the idea. It gave me a vision of the paper I want to write next: same model, real usage telemetry, and a better structure. Lucky for me, working at EnFi, Inc means I have access to the exact real-world telemetry needed to ground the next iteration. Grateful to work alongside a team that takes research rigor seriously and supports doing work like this in the open. LinkedIn is full of triumph stories. But the real world is iterative. Rejections carry the signal required to make the work better.

Scott Weller liked thisScott Weller liked thisSome news to share with my followers. After five incredible years at BluStream.ai, I’m closing one important chapter of my career and welcoming a new one. It’s difficult to fully capture what this experience has meant to me. I’ve had the opportunity to help build, grow, and evolve a company alongside an incredibly talented and committed group of people. Together, we navigated challenges, celebrated meaningful wins, built lasting customer & partner relationships, and accomplished things that once felt far beyond our reach. I’m deeply grateful to Ken Rapp and Kyle York for the opportunity, trust, and partnership, and to the entire BluStream team for everything you taught me. I leave as a better leader, teammate, and person because of the people I worked with and the experiences we shared. To our customers, partners, investors, and everyone supporting us along the way: THANK YOU! The relationships built over these past five years are something I’ll carry with me long after my final day. I’m also excited to share that I’ll be joining SentinelOne, where I’ll help drive the MSSP motion for Prompt Security. It’s an opportunity to reunite with former colleagues, enter one of the most important and rapidly evolving areas of cybersecurity, and help build something special once again. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished at BluStream, grateful for the friendships and memories, and energized for the next chapter. Anyone in my network that wants to chat - BluStream, SentinelOne, or anyone in between, let me know!

Scott Weller liked thisScott Weller liked thisForbes named CYVL as one of the companies fixing America’s $3.7T infrastructure blind spot. The problem isn’t money. It’s that almost no city has a current picture of the roads it owns … and you can’t budget, insure, or underwrite what you can’t see. CYVL started because cities were making million-dollar decisions off stale (or non existent) spreadsheets. That was the state of the art. Today we have sensors on vehicles in hundreds of cities, mapping every crack, sign, and curb at centimeter detail. Ready in HOURS instead of YEARS. Every world model being trained for robotics and Physical AI needs ground truth on the physical world. The most boring asset class in America is about to become one of the most valuable datasets in AI. Article by Dara-Abasi Ita, read more: https://lnkd.in/guguTuXy

Standing out in 2026 requires founders to shift from “visionary” to “battle-tested.” AI coding has levelled the playing field, so VCs are digging for distribution moats, deep domain expertise, and real revenue—not just flashy demos or big markets. Investors predict fewer mega seed rounds, especially in AI-heavy categories. Top quartile Series A&B rounds? Only for those showing explosive, sustainable growth. Europe, Latin America, and Africa are emerging as serious hotspots, with infrastructure and legacy sectors ripe for transformation. AI hype is morphing into demand for actual business value. Investors are moving away from “AI startups” labels, looking instead for founders who can use AI to 10x cost or efficiency in entrenched industries. The “ChatGPT-first” approach is ending—winning teams now orchestrate multiple AI models with real-world ROI. The biggest signals: The IPO window is likely to reopen, with global giants and surprise regions taking center stage. Meanwhile, VCs themselves face a clearing event: only the strongest track records and the most differentiated deal flow will survive. Are you seeing founders deliver battle-tested traction, real distribution, and true industry edge—or is it still too much pitch theatre in your sector? #AIStartups #GlobalIPO #VCSignals

Most IOS deals die before the first call. The invisible culprit? Site coverage. If your FAR (Floor Area Ratio) hits 30%+, you aren’t selling a true IOS asset. You’re selling a building with a large lot. Institutional capital lives by the 20% Rule. This threshold defines utility and liquidity. Exceed it, and you shift from yard-heavy IOS to low-coverage industrial. That shift changes everything: 📉 Exit cap rates move. 💰 Financing terms tighten. 🤝 The buyer pool shrinks. At Centum Capital, we underwrite to institutional standards from day one. We identify the red flags: like excessive FAR: that stall execution before you hit the market. Whether acquiring a value-add yard or recapitalizing a facility, we align your deal structure with institutional appetite. Is your coverage working for you: or against you? Let’s find out. Worth paying attention to... Anthropic vs. Cursor. While Cursor was paying Anthropic hundreds of millions in API fees to power its AI code editor, Anthropic seems to have studied exactly what developers wanted, then launched Claude Code to "eat" their biggest distribution partner. The result. Claude Code hit $1B ARR in just six months and has already surged past $2.5B, proving that when you're a "wrapper" startup, you're often just paying your provider to learn how to replace you. Keep an eye on Cursor layoffs...

Plaid Takes on AI Fraud, Future-Proofing Core Fintech Infrastructure “Fraud has become a cat-and-mouse game,” says Zachary Perret, Plaid’s CEO, as the company fortifies its fintech plumbing against a new wave of AI-powered threats. With fraud losses hitting $12.5B in 2024, Plaid is deploying machine learning defenses across its network - which connects one in two Americans to banks. It's training every engineer in AI tools and pushing for real-time payments modernization. Here’s why this matters for product leaders in fintech (and beyond): - AI-Fueled Attacks Require AI-first Defense Fraudsters are using deepfakes, synthetic identities, and AI-driven document fraud. Plaid’s data network enables real-time signals that outpace isolated silo defenses. - Embedding AI Across Engineering Culture is Key Plaid isn’t just adding features; they’ve made AI fluency a core skill for every engineer. That makes resilience systemic, not siloed. - Infrastructure as Trust Anchor With instant rails like FedNow enabling real-time transfers, fraud prevention must operate at millisecond speed to transform security from backend cost to competitive advantage. Key Takeaways for Product Leaders 1. Treat fraud defense as infrastructure, not an add-on. 2. Invest in real-time, behavioral AI models that span your network. 3. Build AI fluency across teams, not just in data science. In the age of real-time finance, trust isn’t optional. Your security systems need to be as dynamic and intelligent as the threats they face. What proactive steps are your product team taking to stay ahead in the AI fraud arms race? #Fintech #AI #FraudPrevention #ProductStrategy #RealTimePayments #FintechInfrastructure #PlaidProtect #EmbeddedSecurity #AI #StartupProduct #ProductManagement
