Founders: every rule (about fundraising and everything else) is artificial and meant to be broken. For example, consider the “rule” that the lead investor should invest at least X% of the entire round. It’s BS. For example, the amazing Kirsten Green led Bonobos’ $30m Series C round with $1m (and helped the founder raise the remaining $29m). Ignore the so-called rules. Do the right thing for your company. Be the exception.

We’ve raised $270 million in Series B funding for Bedrock Robotics to keep building the future of autonomous construction. This round was co-led by CapitalG, and the Valor Atreides AI Fund (Valor Equity Partners / Atreides Management, LP), with participation from Xora Innovation, 8VC, Eclipse, Emergence Capital, Perry Creek Capital, NVentures (NVIDIA venture capital arm), Tishman Speyer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Georgian, Incharge Capital Partners, C4 Ventures, and others—bringing our total funding to over $350 million. As I'm leaving AWS re:Invent in Vegas, I’m reminded of a counterintuitive truth: competing with the public clouds is often really good business VCs love to ask, “Why wouldn’t the incumbent do this?” But in markets this large (and evolving this quickly) that’s rarely the right question. The real questions are: Who can assemble the best team, get to market fastest and with the most focus? And where are there opportunities to partner with the biggest players rather than compete? We’ve seen this pattern repeat across the ecosystem: -People assumed Vercel and AWS were destined to compete. Today, they’re strategic partners with CEO Guillermo Rauch in the keynote -Snowflake vs. Amazon Redshift. Now, AWS is one of Snowflake’s strongest distribution channels -In Datadog’s early pitches, the concern was, “If it’s just monitoring AWS, why not use CloudWatch?” Fast forward to now, and Datadog is now $50B+ public company We’re going to see the same dynamics play out with OpenAI and Anthropic. These are becoming foundational platforms. But that doesn’t preclude incredible companies from being built on, next to, and even around them. Some will look competitive. Many will end up as partners. And the biggest outcomes often start in those gray zones

This gives customers the ability to see their Vercel usage and costs in Vantage alongside all other providers they use to run their infrastructure. All the same great Vantage features now work for Vercel costs: cost allocation, anomaly detection, budgeting and more. I've known Guillermo Rauch for over a decade at this point and have followed the Vercel story closely - it's been amazing to see all the work the company has done over the years. Vercel has also won the hearts and minds of millions of developers. Vercel has done things TheRight™ way by shipping a FinOps Foundation FOCUS-compatible endpoint to allow their customers to easily export cost and usage data. Today, we're announcing our $125M Series A led by Lightspeed with participation from Greylock Partners, Unusual Ventures, Artisanal Ventures, and A*. This round values Resolve AI at $1B. I've spent two decades building production systems and observability tools. In that time, I've learned that operating software is where most engineering time goes: 3AM pages, the cost optimizations to hit margin goals, the laborious compliance questionnaires. Production is the hardest part of software engineering, and every engineer I talk to has lived this story. AI is helping us write more code than ever, but that code still has to be deployed, monitored, and debugged in production. We're scaling code generation exponentially without scaling our ability to operate it. This is the gap Resolve AI closes. We're building AI for prod: agents that work across code, infrastructure, telemetry, and knowledge. Agents that bring together the expertise of multiple teams in every execution, absorbing context and learning continuously. Our goal is to help every engineer operate production fluently. Seeing the impact that customers like DoorDash, Zscaler, and Coinbase achieve with Resolve makes this work worth it. I'm incredibly proud of the team we've assembled to do it.
