Senthil kumar reposted thisSenthil kumar reposted thisThere’s something special about Chepauk on a match day. The energy. The noise. The belief. And when the entire stadium erupts with a united #WhistlePodu, you don’t just watch cricket — you feel it. 💛 Delighted to have hosted The Skipper’s Pavilion | A Leaders’ Huddle at IPL 2026 alongside an incredible group of CXOs and business leaders in Chennai this weekend. And what a game to witness together. A stunning chase by Chennai Super Kings against Lucknow Super Giants — chasing 204 with 4 balls to spare. From Urvil Patel’s unbelievable 13-ball fifty and explosive 65 off 23, to Jamie Overton’s crucial 3-wicket spell, it was a reminder of why sport remains one of the greatest masterclasses in leadership, resilience, and momentum. But beyond the electrifying atmosphere and thrilling cricket, what stood out most were the conversations. In many ways, cricket mirrors business today: Conditions change rapidly Strategies evolve ball by ball Talent depth wins tournaments And the best captains build teams that thrive under pressure As leaders discussed the future of work, AI, workforce transformation, and talent strategy, one theme became clear: Organizations that build talent velocity will define the next decade. Grateful to everyone who joined us and made the evening memorable. Most of what I share here is about technology, business, AI, or something I’ve learned from spending more than 20 years in this industry. But that’s obviously not the whole picture. There are meetings, deadlines, travel, events, decisions that follow you home, and those periods when running a business takes up more space in your head than you intended. And then there’s the rest of life. My wife has been beside me through a lot of different chapters. Different jobs, responsibilities, opportunities, ambitions, and eventually the decision to build something of my own. Some chapters were easier than others. One thing I’ve appreciated more as I’ve gotten older is having someone who knows the person behind all the professional stuff. Someone you can talk things through with when you need to, laugh with when you don’t, and occasionally remind you that whatever seems incredibly important at 4:00 PM probably isn’t the only thing that matters. We spend a lot of time documenting professional milestones on LinkedIn. The promotions. The companies. The launches. The wins. The people who share the ordinary days with us rarely make the announcement. So today, no technology insight or business takeaway. Just a photo I like with someone I really enjoy doing life with. That’s the post.

Seeing a professional relationship continue across two generations is something I truly value. I am grateful that Kaarthika Agency has been associated with KG Group since our inception. Desperate for capital to expand, the company turned to the public stock market in a last-ditch effort to raise funds after exhausting its loan capacity. Even in 1981 when IPOs were smaller than today, this was an unusual move for such a modest enterprise. It was possible only because a well-connected investment banker, Ken Langone, happened to be a nonexecutive co-founder and a member of the company’s board of directors. Langone had such faith in the young company’s prospects that he called in some favors on Wall Street, and Bear Stearns reluctantly agreed to take on the piddly $6 million planned offering. Demand for the IPO was thin, and one week before IPO, Bear called the company and said they’d be unable to raise the funds. Langone managed to save the deal with further strong-arming, but only at a reduced offering size. Bear’s equity sales force finally took the deal out on Sept. 22, 1981, raising only $4 million at an initial market capitalization of less than $40 million. What no one—not even Ken Langone in his wildest dreams—could have foreseen is that this small hardware company, the Home Depot, would go on to generate the highest total return of any U.S. stock in the next 45 years. If you had invested $1,000 in Home Depot on the day of its IPO, that $1,000 (with dividends reinvested) would be worth roughly $16 million today—a greater total return than what you could have made from investing in any other stock in the S&P 500 on any day since. In fact, it’s not even particularly close. Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal, the hosts of the "Acquired" podcast, ran the numbers to see how home improvement became much larger than anyone could have imagined: 🔗 https://on.wsj.com/4xCXYZB

Senthil kumar liked thisSenthil kumar liked thisAbdul Alim’s journey from a security guard to a software engineer at Zoho is a powerful example of how self-learning and persistence can change a career. In 2013, Alim left home with just ₹1,000 and spent ₹800 on a train ticket. With no job or place to stay, he spent two months on the streets before finding work as a security guard at Zoho. During his 12-hour shifts, his curiosity about technology caught the attention of senior Zoho employee Shibu Alexis. Despite having studied only until Class 10 and knowing basic HTML, Alim was eager to learn programming. Alexis decided to mentor him. For the next eight months, Alim worked during the day and taught himself programming in the evenings. He eventually built a simple application that visualised user input, which Alexis showed to a Zoho manager. #Zoho #SecurityGuard #Developer #Techie #Startupro

Senthil kumar liked thisSenthil kumar liked thisStepping into the driver’s seat for a day! 🚛 Driver Appreciation Week at HD Supply gave us the perfect excuse to get behind the wheel — even if it was just a photo booth! 😉 While the picture is all fun, the message behind the week is much bigger. Our drivers are an important part of the journey that connects our business to the customers and communities we serve across the US. And here at HD Supply | Global Technology Center in India, it’s a great reminder that even when we’re miles away from the road, the work we do helps keep that journey moving. Different roles. Different locations. One team. One purpose. A little glimpse into the driver’s world, with a lot of appreciation for those who are actually on the road keeping things moving every day. 👏🚛 Happy Driver Appreciation Week! #DriverAppreciationWeek #HDSupply #LifeAtHDSupply #OneTeam #GCCChennai #PeopleAndCulture #HDSupplyGTC

Two different go-to-market strategies and customer bases, but one incredible culture that puts the customer first. Even better was taking the chance to talk with some of our field sellers and learn more about our customers! Thanks Scott Phagan, Ricardo Tomé and Juan José Espinosa Silva for a great day!

EVP Jordan Broggi said the in-store version improves assistance quality because "you're in this store, let's talk about the inventory that's in the store first," with Magic Apron now receiving millions of questions per month and the app becoming Home Depot's highest-growth digital surface in Q2. Separately, the AI-powered Material List Builder is driving outsized online growth with professional customers, who outperformed DIY and posted positive comps in the quarter. Senior EVP Ann-Marie Campbell said the technology investments have produced "greater associate engagement, better customer satisfaction scores, and stronger sales." Home Depot reported Q2 2026 total sales of $47.9 billion, up 5.7% year-over-year, with online growing 11% for the fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit digital growth. If you lead SAP delivery in a GSI, you already know the real risk at go-live. It’s not “does UAT pass.” It’s “does this explode in hypercare and eat your margin.” 3 patterns show up every time ERP hits manufacturing: 1️⃣ UAT passes because teams create & learn workarounds 2️⃣ APS schedules get overridden daily because the model isn’t calibrated to reality 3️⃣ Master data ownership is unclear, spreadsheets fill the gaps If you’ve lived through this, which one hits first in your programs?
