Before you open your storyboard, LMS, or favorite authoring tool… Ask this: 👉 “What do learners need to DO, not just know, after this?” It sounds simple. But it’s one of the most overlooked questions in instructional design. Because when we skip this? 🚫 We end up with info dumps. 🚫 We focus on coverage over impact. 🚫 We create content that checks boxes but changes nothing. Instructional designers are performance partners. Our job is to bridge the gap between knowing and doing. AI agents can now log into Moodle, open your course, and complete and submit assignments automatically including quizzes, discussion replies, essays, everything. This isn’t hypothetical anymore. Perplexity Comet, ChatGPT Atlas, and others can navigate Moodle like a human user. They literally click through the interface and complete the activity for the student. No copy–paste required. No student even has to read the task. This changes everything for online learnings urgently. Institutions, educators, and AI companies need to address this now, not later. Inspired by something I saw posted to LinkedIn this week, I've devised a new and effective method of integrating the Storyline 360 seekbar with a custom GSAP animation timeline. Both start and end points for the GSAP motion effects are plottable anywhere on the slide timeline using variables. Somehow I missed seeing this HTML formatting feature when it was released last year in #Storyline 3.27 (Jan 2024). This is super helpful! https://lnkd.in/gXEKsp_B ▪️ You can include these tags in the initial value of a variable, or you can add the tags later by using a trigger that adjusts the value of a text variable.

Childcare is COSTLY, but it should never feel EXPENSIVE. There’s a fundamental difference between the two, and it’s time we address it. I recently watched Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Creative Director at Hermès discussing the difference between costly (which he agreed his products are) and expensive and it got me thinking (even more) about why we need to change how we view childcare. It resonated deeply because quality early years education is a skilled profession, requiring highly trained practitioners, safe environments, enriching resources, and a deep understanding of child development. That comes at a cost. But here’s the issue: many parents don’t see that quality. They experience stretched staff, rushed handovers, underfunded settings, and a system that barely holds itself together. And when the value isn’t visible, the cost feels unjustified. It feels expensive. It’s like buying a Hermès bag vs. a poorly made knockoff at designer prices. Both might carry a hefty price tag, but one is a long-term investment in craftsmanship, while the other feels like daylight robbery. If parents truly experienced the best of early years where relationships flourish, children thrive, and expertise shines they’d see the cost for what it is: an investment, not an expense. The challenge? Our sector is undervalued, underfunded, and forced to do more with less. Until we fix this, we risk making high-quality childcare a luxury, rather than a standard. It’s time to change the conversation. Not about making childcare cheaper, but about ensuring it’s worth every penny. What do you think?
