Cannabis Sellers:  Are You Leveraging Neuromarketing? Neuromarketing (also known as behavioral economics) is a powerful lever to boost retail revenue & profit, enhance the customer experience and improve B2B selling rates. These methods can nudge buyers through architected product choices, leveraging sub conscious biases and capitalizing on a person’s heuristics (i.e. mental short cuts).  The key idea behind Neuromarketing has been proven through lots of research and case studies... People are often irrational when it comes to evaluating and making purchase decisions.  Neuromarketing strategies have been proven effective in the retail (online & physical), wealth management, business services, CPG, and healthcare sectors. Here are 6 of my favorite precepts: 1️⃣ The Paradox of Choice ➡️ Give consumers too many options and they’ll choose nothing.  You want to limit your product assortment and recommend good, better and best. 2️⃣ The Framing Effect ➡️ Communicate the same thing two ways, and you can get two completely different reactions. For example, marketing a product as 99% fat free will be more appealing than saying it only has 1% fat. 3️⃣ Anchoring Bias ➡️ That first number a buyer sees creates a cost (and value) expectation. Show the expensive item first. Subsequent products will look like a deal 4️⃣ The Power of ‘Free’ ➡️ Consumers will often go for a “free” offer even when they don't need it. Bonus packs and ‘gift with purchase’ signal compelling value. 5️⃣ Present Bias ➡️ Humans tend to want rewards or value sooner. In the case of loyalty programs, members are more likely to forego a greater payoff in the future in favour of receiving a smaller reward sooner. 6️⃣ The Rule of 3 ➡️ When given 3 options, most consumer will opt for the middle one.  This is a subconscious Goldilocks principle:  “Not too hot, not too cold just right.” The above are general concepts.  There are many more to choose from.  How Neuromarkting is best employed will depend on things like you business goals, competitive & environmental context, and ease of implementation. Before employing Neuromarketing, marketers should undertake consumer and product analysis. Consider the pre-roll category.   Some stores carry up to 100 different SKUs.  This selection creates a Paradox of Choice. Your assortment should be culled. To recommend the right product for your consumer (and the store), the budtender, menu and self-serve kiosk should leverage the Rule of 3 bias. Sellers must recognize that humans are irrational and will make decisions that go against their best interest.  The best way to influence consumers is to work with (and not fight) their biases and heuristics. Florida’s medical cannabis market is thriving, with $1.8 billion+ in sales in 2024, including $145 million in December alone. Recreational use is still off the table after a 2024 amendment fell just short of the 60% needed. Trulieve dominates with 163 dispensaries, accounting for about 24% of the state’s market. Curaleaf and MÜV (Verano) each operate 60+ locations. Smaller operators like Jungle Boys and The Flowery are carving out niche success with premium products and strong delivery networks. It all comes down to the 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱: - At the bottom, small businesses trade at just 4–6x EBITDA. - Mid-market firms can command 8–12x. - At the top, scarce companies trade at 15–20x… sometimes 40x in tech or AI. The exact same $10M in earnings could be worth $60M or $120M, depending on where you sit on the pyramid. That’s not accounting magic — that’s multiple expansion, and it’s the lever that creates generational wealth. Here’s the kicker: - Fewer than 1% of companies ever reach the top. - Big funds literally can’t buy small firms — they need billion-dollar deals. - Scarcity at the top creates competition, which drives valuations higher. This is why timing matters, why fund sizes dictate who your buyer will be, and why entrepreneurs who understand this framework engineer transformational exits instead of leaving money on the table. Trust, But Verify — Especially in RV Park Investments The RV park investment space has become one of the hottest conversations in real estate. Everywhere you look, someone claims to have the key to help you buy your first park — the “right” LOI, the “best” contacts, or the “perfect” strategy. But here’s the truth: Before you trust anyone with your capital, your strategy, or your next move — verify. I’ve purchased multiple RV parks that were previously bought under poor terms. In several cases, those bad deals nearly drove the owners into the ground. The lesson? A deal that looks great on paper can fail quickly if the structure, operations, or assumptions are wrong. If you’re learning from someone or taking advice on an investment, ask questions like: ✅ How many parks have you actually purchased? ✅ What types of parks were they — transient, long-term, or destination? ✅ How many parks are you currently operating, and at what capacity? ✅ What’s your real-world operational experience? Not everyone teaching or selling a process has run a park successfully. Some are good at buying. Some are good at underwriting. Some are good at structuring deals. But long-term success comes from knowing how to operate, manage, and optimize after closing. At our company, we even invite investors to spend time on-site at our parks — to see firsthand what’s involved in day-to-day operations. It’s eye-opening and builds real understanding before a deal ever happens. And one more critical point — protect your deals. Please be careful about who you share opportunities with. Unfortunately, not everyone in this business operates with integrity, and you don’t want to learn that lesson the hard way. The bottom line: Relationships are essential—mentorship matters. Collaboration is powerful. When it comes to your investments, always trust but verify.

And in my personal opinion, most RLO's bring sort of a pompous, red carpet attitude, almost a holier than thou temperament. This can also be portrayed to borrows who can see through them. That being said, CDLO's almost always have a better persona, better attitude and a driving force to not give up. I have hired over a thousand CDLOs, RLOs, BM's, AEs and Brokers and no one beats the CDLO.
